More Paper Dolls!
Hello! Today I am sharing a few more paper dolls I worked on this week. As with the paper dolls shared in my March 14, 2025 blog post (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2025/03/tags-to-go-dolls-hello-human-figure-is.html) I was inspired by the key dies in the Stampin’ Up!® Tags To Go dies (item 165576) - they make great arms and legs! I also used other dies from this set for bodies and heads - and of course the little lock die makes a great handbag!I have had the Tune In Bundle (163637) - which includes the Tune In photopolymer stamp set (item 163633) and the co-ordinating Tune In dies (item 163636) - for a little while, but was stymied by a lack of creative inspiration, so I thought why not use these dies for dolls too? After all, like humans, dolls can be all shapes and sizes! I used die cuts made using the knob and speaker ("grill") dies on both the TV and others of the vintagey dolls - and the two antenna dies also make fun little fascinator hats!
In addition to the Tags To Go and the Tune In dies I used the following dies for basic elements of the dolls:
- Around It All (item 164725) - heads of course but also for a window opening in the TV for the "Stay tuned" doll;
- Nested Essentials (item 161597) - two of the rectangular dies used together with the Tune In screen die to create additional screen frames on the "News Flash" doll;
- Stylish Shapes (item 159183) - more circles for heads;
- Everyday Arches (item 164629) - an arch-shaped body; and
- retiring (and currently available as one of the discounted Last Chance Products) Greetings Of The Season (item 164112) - more bodies.
I used the following dies for additional elements on the dolls:
- Country Flowers (item 163410) - leafy clump die for hair, and as foliage behind watering can die cut;
- Crafting With You (item 161225) - scissors (framed doll project);
- retiring (and currently available as one of the discounted Last Chance Products) Changing Leaves (item 164138) - small oval die for an embellishment on main body;
- Country Birdhouse (item 163400) - small flowers and leaves - the small triple leaf die also used for hair; trimmed hanging bow die cuts used as embellishments; and the trimmed hanging section of the bow used as a flower stem;
- Cheerful Daisies (item 161296) - hair;
- Hot Air Balloon (item 162754) - large hearts;
- Adventurous Sky (item 163446) - small propeller die cuts used as embellishments on main bodies;
- Beach Day (item 162799) - life preserver die used as face embellishment;
- Storybook Garden Patch (item 164666) - watering can; and
- Alphabet ร La Mode (item 160750) - letter "A" on the watering can doll.
For bodies, heads, and key arms and legs for the vintagey dolls I used the following colours of cardstock, shading the die cuts with Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), and Early Espresso ink (item 147114) applied with Small Blending Brushes (item 160518):
- Crumb Cake (item 120953);
- Gray Granite (item 146983);
- Smoky Slate (item 131202); and
- Pebbled Path (item 161722).
For a little additional visual texture (a mottled effect) I lightly spritzed many of the shaded cardstock die cuts with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185), blotting dry with paper towel.
For the circle head frame on the "Stay tuned" TV doll I used Basic Beige cardstock (item 164511), shaded with Crumb Cake ink.
On the "News Flash" TV doll the upper arm keys were cut from Basic Black cardstock (item 121045), and shaded with White Craft Stampin' Ink (item 147277) applied with one of the Sponge Daubers (item 133773 - package of five).
All the little lock die cut handbags were cut from Gray Granite cardstock, and shaded with Crumb Cake and Basic Gray inks.
The sentiments and texture image from the Tune In stamp set, and the text and splatter images from the Elements Of Text stamp set (item 164774) were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708).
To complete the doll projects I also used the following basic supplies:
- Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
- Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - these sharp little scissors are perfect for doing any necessary trimming of die cuts;
- Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for trimming Designer Series Paper strips;
- Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer, mini spatula, and tacky putty tips are definitely a great help for picking up and placing small die cuts; and
- for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
On with the projects!
Additional supplies to complete the "News Flash" TV doll:
- Real Red cardstock (item 102482), shaded with Real Red ink (item 147084), and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) for the front TV die cut - legs trimmed off;
- Pebbled Path cardstock (item 161722) for one complete TV die cut - glued to the back of the trimmed Real Red cardstock die cut - shaded with Basic Gray ink;
- Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the speaker die cut - shaded with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), and Basic Gray ink;
- Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202) for the two die cut knobs - shaded with Pecan Pie ink, and Early Espresso ink (item 147114);
- Smoky Slate cardstock for the screen's inner frame - shaded with Basic Gray ink;
- Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the screen - shaded with Basic Gray ink; and
- Basic Black cardstock for the screen's outer frame and the antenna - both shaded with White Craft Stampin' Ink (item 147277).
Additional supplies used to complete the "Stay tuned" TV doll:
- Pebbled Path cardstock (item 161722) for the front TV die cut, shaded with Basic Gray ink (item 149165);
- Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for one complete backing TV die cut, and for the antenna (shaded with White Craft Stampin' Ink - item 147277); and
- Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202) for the knob and speaker die cuts - knobs shaded with Basic Gray ink; and the speaker shaded with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), and Basic Gray ink.
Additional supplies used to complete the following three vintagey ladies:
- Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202), and Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the knob die cuts - shaded with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665);
- Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983), and Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202) for the large flower die cuts - shaded with Pecan Pie and Basic Gray inks;
- Basic Beige cardstock (item 164511) for the small flower die cut;
- Real Red cardstock (item 102482), shaded with Real Red ink (item 147084), and Cherry Cobbler ink (item 147083) for the Country Flowers leafy clump "hair" die cut; and
- for additional embellishments - large and small Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots (item 163338).
With visits to antique and flea markets I have managed to accumulate a little collection of vintage scissors, and to complete this scissors-toting framed vintagey doll that is a happy reminder of treasure hunting expeditions I used the following additional supplies:
- a re-purposed shadow box frame picked up at Dollar Tree - inside dimensions 7 1/8" tall x just under 4" wide. To cover the frame's back panel (after sanding off the cardboard letters originally glued to the panel) I trimmed a panel from a linen patterned paper from the Online Exclusives Woven Textures 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 165560) - shading the edges with Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), and Early Espresso ink (item 147114) - adding splatters by flicking a paint brush loaded with first Crumb Cake ink mixed with water and then Early Espresso ink mixed with water;
- Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953), shaded with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks for the knob die cuts;
- Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983), shaded with Crumb Cake ink, and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) for the speaker/grill die cut; and
- Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202), shaded with Basic Gray ink, and Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) for the scissors - the Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) circle die cut used for the screw on the scissors is the negative or punch out circle from the top of one of the keys that was die cut from Basic Black cardstock for another project.
For the bodies of the following dolls I first glued strips of various Designer Series Papers to cardstock before die cutting the bodies:
- three grayscale tone patterns from the Online Exclusives Botanical Textures 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 165545);
- various patterns from the Full Of Life 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 163357); and
- two Coastal Cabana patterns and one Pumpkin Pie pattern from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments-Brights (item 163775).
Additional supplies used to complete the dolls:
- Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for key arms and legs, and for Stylish Shapes face circles embossed using the Online Exclusives Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder (item 164656) - I embossed the cardstock before die cutting the circles;
- Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for key arms and legs; heads; Country Flowers and Cheerful Daisies "hair"; Country Birdhouse bow; and the Alphabet ร La Mode "A" - arms, legs, and some heads shaded with White Craft Stampin' Ink (item 147277);

Thank you for visiting my blog! I had a lot of fun playing with my dolls - certainly a nice - and very needed - distraction from the continuous barrage of bad news . . . must be a reason why I was a little focused on Pumpkin Pie this week . . . ๐The "Stay tuned" sentiment is certainly appropriate for these days!
