Always Time For Tea!
(despite the retirment of the Cup of Tea Bundle and Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper)
Hello! Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using the retiring Stampin' Up! Cup of Tea Bundle (which includes the Cup of Tea stamp set - item 158661, and the Teacup dies - item 160186), and Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 158659), as well as a few other retiring and current products! During the ongoing Last Chance Promotion (ending May 1, 2023), the Teacup dies are available at a 50% discount, and the Tea Boutique DSP at a 30% discount! If you are purchasing a retiring Bundle (such as the Cup of Tea Bundle) during the Last Chance Promotion, and only the dies are discounted, when placing your online order be sure to use the separate item numbers for the stamp set and dies rather than the Bundle item number to ensure that you receive the full discount on the dies!
Cup of Tea Bundle - 158667
(Cup of Tea stamp set - 158661; Teacup dies - 160186)
Just a quick summary of the basic tools and supplies I used to complete the projects:
- Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for cutting paper and cardstock - can also be used for scoring;
- Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - nice sharp scissors for close trimming (ie cutting around the stamped "it's time for tea" tag on the "Let's get together soon" card);
- stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring lines on paper and cardstock;
- Bone Folder (item 102300) - for burnishing score lines to ensure crisp fold lines on cards and boxes;
- Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
- Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer and tacky putty tips are a tremendous help in picking up and placing small embellishments and die cuts; and
- for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
On with the projects!
Tea Bag Handled Boxes
(with magnetic closures)
With the time fast approaching when many will be looking for ideas for small gifts of appreciation for teachers these little tea bag boxes, which measure 3 1/2" tall x 3 1/4" wide x 2 3/4" deep and hold 25 little individual tea bags, might be an idea - or maybe you just want a little something for a tea-loving friend. For each box I used the following:
- for the box a 7 3/4" x 8 1/4" piece of cardstock, scored at 2 1/2" on all four sides - I trimmed the side tabs down by just under 1" (this is to prevent the tabs from overlapping on the insides of the front and back panels of the box);
- for the lid a 4 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of cardstock, scored at 1" on all four sides;
- for the lid support strips (which are glued to the inside top edges of the front and back and both sides of the box - with the score lines on the strips lined up with the top edges of the box) - two 3 1/4" x 1" pieces of cardstock, scored on the 1" side at 1/2" (front and back of the box); and two 2 5/8" x 1" pieces of cardstock, also scored on the 1" side at 1/2" (sides of the box). I only burnished the score line on the strip that was glued to the top inside of the back of the box as this becomes the hinge for the lid - the other score lines only act as markers for lining up with the edges of the box when gluing. I did snip off a little from the ends of the back strip (top and bottom) - and depending on how the lid fits a little snip can be taken off the top of the side strips as well. To attach the lid I applied glue to the outside of the top back strip and then fitted all strips inside the lid as I lowered the lid to the top edges of the box - I found that it was a good idea to leave the box alone for a bit to let the glue dry before trying to open the lid and "work" the hinge; and
- for the handle a 5" x 3/4" wide piece of cardstock, scored at 1/2" from both ends on the 5" side.
I completed the construction of the box and lid (including the attachment of the lid), then glued on the Designer Series Paper panels (all cut from the Tea Boutique DSP and cut 1/8" smaller than the corresponding cardstock panels), added the closure flap (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563), added the "+" and "-" slim magnetic discs (Basic Grey - purchased at my local scrapbooking shop) under the flap and on the front panel, and then attached the handle. I added the DSP strips to the handles, allowed the glue to dry, scored each end and then slightly curled the curve portion of the handle using my bone folder. When gluing on the handles I lined up the handle ends with the edges of the DSP panel on the top of the lid.
For the "lemon" box I used the following additional supplies:
- Garden Green cardstock (item 102584) for the box, lid, lid support strips, handle, flap tag, sentiment tag (also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies), the leafy sprig, and the matting circle on the flap tag;
- Crushed Curry cardstock (item 131199) for the sentiment tag hole reinforcer (also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies), and the die cut solid lemon slice;
- Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the die cut flower and detailed lemon slice overlay;
- Queen Bee dies (item 160484) to cut the flower and the leafy sprig;
- Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the Garden Green cardstock and DSP circles;
- Tailor Made Tags dies to cut the Crushed Curry/white striped DSP (Tea Boutique DSP) tag on the flap tag;
- Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment; and
- Garden Green twine (Three Twine Combo Pack - item 160597) for the double bow tying the sentiment tag to the handle.
Additional supplies used for the "teapot" box:
- Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the box, lid, handle, lid support strips, flap tag, and sentiment circle's matting scalloped circle;
- Tahitian Tide cardstock (item 159261) for the smaller flap tag, and sentiment circle;
- Stylish Shapes dies to cut the sentiment circle;
- Layering Circles dies (item 151770) to cut the Basic Black cardstock scalloped circle;
- Matte Black Dots (item 154284) - one large dot added to each handle end; and
- black baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) - tied through the center of the stacked buttons (black and white buttons both from my stash).
I added a black eyelet to the matted sentiment circle, which I tied to the handle with some "almost Tahitian Tide" and white striped 3/8" ribbon from my stash.
Tissue Holder
What is most wanted to combat the onset of a spring cold other than a good supply of tissues and lemon tea? For this tissue holder I used the following additional supplies:
- for the holder an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Garden Green cardstock (item 102584), scored on the 11" side at 4" (back panel), 6 1/2", 7 1/2", and 10";
- 2 1/4" x 1" banner die from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the opening in the top panel (2 1/2" x 4 1/4" panel) - I cut the opening after I had glued on the DSP panel - after cutting the opening I then glued on the DSP panels for the back front and front panels - I glued the full back panel on after I had assembled the holder;
- Garden Green cardstock for the matting circle for the sentiment circle;
- Garden Green/Granny Apple Green patterned paper from the Awash In Beauty 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 158973) for the sentiment circle;
- Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment;
- Stylish Shapes dies to cut the sentiment and Garden Green cardstock circles;
- Crushed Curry cardstock (item 131199) for the die cut solid lemon slice;
- Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the die cut detailed lemon slice overlay;
- Basic White cardstock and Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095) for the stamped and die cut leafy sprigs (splatters added with Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker - item 100082 - by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid);
- Real Red cardstock (item 102482) for the die cut hearts;
- Honeybee Home stamp set (item 157943) and the co-ordinating Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951) to stamp and die cut from watercolour paper the bee image;
- Mango Melody ink (item 147093), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), and Balmy Blue watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 2 - item 149014) to colour the bee image;
- Sweet Sorbet shaded dots from 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186) - three added to the sentiment circle; and
- Garden Green twine (Three Twine Combo Pack - item 160597) - bow for the sentiment circle - the bow and the ends secured with little dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
A few cards:
For this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
- Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the card base, sentiment circle, and "time for tea" tag;
- Shaded Spruce cardstock (item 146981) for the frame (cut using the Fabulous Frames dies - item 159163), grass (cut using the Honeybee Blooms dies - item 157951), broad leaf sprig (cut using the Summer Shadows dies - item 156618), and the delicate leafy sprig (cut using the Queen Bee dies - item 160484);

- leftover from my projects a few weeks ago a clear shrink film dragonfly (stamped using one of the dragonfly stamps from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set - item 154411 - and Stazon Jet Black Ink - item 101406).
Using an envelope punch board I made an envelope from another piece of the Abigail Rose DSP. The 5/8" "almost Shaded Spruce" gross grain ribbon used for the bow is from my dollar store stash!
Additional supplies used for this 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" top-fold card:

Using an envelope punch board I made an envelope from another piece of the Abigail Rose DSP - adding a 5/8" cream satin ribbon bow (more ribbon from my dollar store stash!).
And finally . . .
It's a lot of fun to play with leftover pieces from other projects - which is exactly what I did for these two final top-fold cards - the larger card measures 3 5/8" x 4 3/4", and the smaller 3 5/8" x 1 7/8". These two cards started from one matted card base - but because of a mistake (not using my Stamparatus - item 146276 - and which, unfortunately no longer available😿- to stamp the sentiment - ugh!!) I ended up cutting the card - maybe a lucky accident since cards do not have to adhere to any strict formulas and can of course be any shape or size or style!
For the card base I used Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229). The background panel is a watercolour paper panel that had been sponged with Mango Melody ink (item 147093) through one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks (item 159178), and then matted using Basic Black cardstock (item 121045). For the stamped and coloured flowers and leaves I used watercolour paper, images from the Happiness Abounds stamp set (item 159238) - die cut using the co-ordinating Blossoming Happiness dies (item 158823), and coloured using Mango Melody ink (item 147093), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), and Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095). The orange coloured strips were cut from a watercolour paper panel that had been coloured with Pumpkin Pie ink and embossed using the Splatters embossing folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders (item 157980) - for the larger card I scraped the blade of my craft knife along the edges of the strip. The circles on the larger card (cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183) were watercolour paper coloured with a soft wash (lots of water) of Rich Razzleberry ink (item 147091). The white shrink film dragonfly was another leftover from my projects from a few weeks ago - the dragonfly image, from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set (item 154411), was stamped on the shrink film using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406). The sentiments (both from the Cup of Tea stamp set) were stamped on Basic White cardstock (item 159276) using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) - for the larger card the strip was trimmed and the edges scraped with the blade of my craft knife - for the smaller card the circle was cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. To complete the larger card I added four of the Parakeet Party shaded dots from the 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186). For the smaller card I added die cut foliage cut from Garden Green cardstock (item 102584), Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990), and Parakeet Party cardstock (item 159259) - cut using the Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951), Around The Bend dies (item 160649), and the Forever Flourishing dies (item 152714). Both the small and large butterflies were cut using the Brilliant Wings dies (item 155523) - the larger from Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) and the smaller from another piece of the Pumpkin Pie inked watercolour paper panel. To complete the smaller card I added four Basic Black dots from Classic Matte Dots (item 158146). To the bottom right of the inside panel I added a partially torn strip of the Pumpkin Pie inked watercolour paper panel.
Using an envelope punch board I made an envelope for the larger card from a piece of the Hues of Happiness 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 158822).
