Windows and Daisies!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week featuring windows and daisies.  Windows can certainly be any shape or size but for the windows on my projects I used the Window dies (item 159756) - one of the recent additions to the Clearance Rack; and circle dies from the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183).  For the large daisies and cone flowers I used the Cheerful Daisies dies (item 161296) - I am having so much fun playing with these dies! - the Dainty Delight dies (item 160674) for the small daisy and Queen Anne's Lace, and the Around The Bend dies (item 160649) for small flower. For additional foliage I used the large solid and large detail overlay leaf dies from the Chic dies (item 158815); small leaf and leaf cluster dies from Aspen Tree dies (item 159798); and leafy sprigs and double leaf dies from Around The Bend dies.  For the silhouette flowers/foliage and butterflies on the birdhouse gift bag I used the Meadow dies (item 155852).

  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - for picking up and placing embellishments and small die cuts the tacky putty and paper piercer tips are a great help; and,
  • for the main adhesive - Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
On with the projects!
Bird House Gift Bag
(and gift card with envelope)

For this bird house gift bag, which measures 8" tall x 4" wide x 3 1/2" deep I followed the instructions I used to complete the bird house gift bag I shared in my March 24, 2022, blogpost (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2022/03/bird-house-gifttreat-holders-hello.html) with the exception of the base - for the base of this gift bag, which is flush with the sides, front and back, I cut a 4" x 3 1/2" piece of 1/16" thick cardboard - the edges I coloured with a black Sharpie marker,  I covered the inside (top) with a piece of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) and the bottom with a piece of DSP, each cut just slightly smaller than the cardboard dimensions.

To complete this gift bag I used the following additional supplies:
  • for each of the front and back: an 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock - cut and scored as indicated on the template photo;
  • for each side: a 6 1/2" x 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock - scored at 1/2" on three sides as per template photo;
  • for each of the two roof sections: a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock, scored at 3/4" on one side;
  • for the roof cap: a 4 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock, scored at 3/4" on the 1 1/2" side;
  • Misty Moonlight patterned paper from Earthen Elegance 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161503) for the front, back and side panels - the DSP panels cut 1/4" smaller than the corresponding cardstock panels and all edges sponged with Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118).  Before assembling the gift bag I glued the DSP onto the front panel and then cut out the circle opening using the 2 1/2" diameter circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies.  I then glued on the circle frame (cut from Basic Black cardstock using the 2 1/2" and 2 1/8" diameter circle dies).  On the inside of the front panel behind the opening I glued on an approximately 3 1/2" square of acetate (Window Sheets - item 142314).  I glued on the rest of the DSP panels and then assembled the body of the bag;
  • Boho Blue/Misty Moonlight patterned paper from Let's Go Fishing 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161534) for the roof and roof cap panels - each DSP panel cut 1/8" smaller than the corresponding cardstock panel;, and all edges sponged with Misty Moonlight ink;
  • Basic Black cardstock for the die cut silhouette flowers/foliage and butterflies;
  • Perched In A Tree stamp set (item 159791) and corresponding die from Aspen Tree dies to stamp and cut bird image - stamped on watercolour paper using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and coloured with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), Misty Moonlight ink, and Basic Gray ink (item 149165);
Perched In A Tree stamp set - 159791
  • for the coloured die cut flowers and foliage I used watercolour paper and Stampin' Up! inks, applied with Blending Brushes (item 153611) and Small Blending Brushes (item 160518).  The inks used: Daffodil Delight (item 147094); Pumpkin Pie (item 147086); Pecan Pie; and Berry Burst (item 147143) for the flowers; and Old Olive (item 147090), and Mossy Meadow (item 147111) for the foliage; and

Additional supplies used to complete the 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" top-fold gift card and envelope:
  • Basic Black cardstock for the card base, envelope tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563), and inside panel bow (cut using the Window dies);
  • Misty Moonlight cardstock (item 153081) for the tag hole re-enforcer (also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies);
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for 4 3/8" x 2 5/8" inside panel;

Window Gift Box
(and gift card with envelope)
Additional supplies to complete this 7" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 1 1/4" deep gift box with lid:
  • a 12" x 8 1/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock (Neutrals 12" x 12" Cardstock Assortments - item 161715) scored on the 12" side at 1 1/4", 5 3/4", 7", and 11 1/2" (1/2" tab is glue tab); and scored on the 8 1/4" side at 1 1/4" (bottom flaps);
  • for the lid a 6 9/16" x 3 5/16" piece of Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 1" on all four sides;
  • Masterfully Made 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161192) for the front, back, and side panels of the box, and the top and side panels of the lid - DSP panels cut 1/8" smaller than corresponding cardstock panels, and all edges sponged with Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118).  Before assembling the box I glued the DSP to the front panel and with a pencil traced around the window frame die, cutting the opening with my craft knife.  For the outer frame and ledge I used Night of Navy cardstock - the piece from which I cut the outer frame I first embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406).  The inner frame was cut from Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229).  After gluing the inner frame behind the outer frame I glued the whole frame over the opening - on the inside behind the opening I first glued an approximately 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of acetate (Window Sheets - item 142314) and then an approximately 4" x 3" piece of Pretty Peacock/Lost Lagoon patterned paper from the Masterfully Made DSP.  After gluing on the remaining DSP panels I completed the assembly of the box;

  • Fresh Freesia cardstock (item 155613) and Berry Burst cardstock (item 144243) for the die cut flowers and flower centers; and
  • two small white dots from Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) for flower centers.
The 1/16" satin "almost Pretty Peacock" ribbon used for the lid's bow was from my stash!
Additional supplies to complete 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" top-fold gift card and envelope:
  • Night of Navy cardstock for the card base and 4 1/16" x 2 1/4" embossed panel (embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder);

  • Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock cardstock for the die cut foliage; and
  • one large and three small white dots from Classic Matte Dots - large dot used for flower center.
And finally . . .
There are several houses that I find very striking in the neighbourhood - with white brick and black and white window frames they look so clean and elegant!

For this 5 9/16" x 5 1/16" side-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card base, and for the inner frame panel - after running a larger piece of cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the inner frame die more or less centered on the cardstock I trimmed the cardstock down to 4 5/16" x 3 1/8";
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the outer window frame and ledge (to add a little dimension I cut and stacked together three outer frames); front 5 1/2" x 4 7/8" embossed panel (embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder (item 161600); "hello" tag; the 5" x 4 1/2" inside matting panel; and 3 1/2" square inside sentiment panel;
  • Berry Burst/white striped paper from Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 161449) for the window backing panel and for the inside strips - for the window backing panel I trimmed the paper so that the original diagonal stripes would run vertically.  The DSP panel was glued behind the window frame panel before the frame panel was glued to the embossed panel.  I scraped the edges of the embossed panel with the blade of my craft knife;
  • black & white patterned paper from the Clearance Rack's All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 160039) for the 4 15/16" x 4 3/8" inside matting panel;
  • watercolour paper for the die cut flowers and foliage - coloured, using Blending Brushes (item 153611) and Small Blending Brushes (item 160518) and Daffodil Delight ink (item 147094), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Berry Burst ink (item 147143), Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), and, for the foliage, Old Olive ink (item 147090) and Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111);
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp sentiments - "hello" from Gorgeously Made stamp set (item 161193), and inside sentiment from Nested Friends stamp set (item 160322 - an Online Exclusive);
Gorgeously Made stamp set - 161193

  • small banner die from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the sentiment banner; and
  • four of the Basic Black dots from Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) added to the front panel.
For the envelope (made using an envelope punch board) I used a piece of black & white patterned paper from the retired (for a few years!) Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (item 149622), using 5/8" black gross grain ribbon from my Dollar store stash for the bow!
