A Few More Halloween Treat Holders!

(with the Best Witches stamp set and Scary Cute Bundle)

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few more Halloween treat holders I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Best Witches stamp set (item 159860), and the Scary Cute Bundle (item 159852) that includes the Scary Cute stamp set (item 159850) and the Scary Silhouettes dies (item 159851),  The Scary Cute stamp set and Scary Silhouettes dies can also be purchased separately of course, but, when purchased together using the Bundle item number, there is the 10% Bundle Savings!  Although Halloween is just a few days away there is still time to make a few last minute treat holders!

To complete my projects, in addition to my usual tools (Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine - item 149653; Paper Trimmer - item 152392; scoring tool and stylus - Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334; Bone Folder - item 102300; stamping platform - Stamparatus - item 146276; and Multipurpose Liquid Glue - item 110755), I also raided my stash for various ribbons and buttons that co-ordinated with the Stampin' Up! inks and papers I had selected for each project!  I used Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the images on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612), and coloured the images using Stampin' Up! inks and watercolour pencils.

Double-Handled Tote Bag
For this double-handled tote bag treat holder, which measures 4" tall (excluding the handles) x 2 7/8" wide x 1" wide, I used the following additional supplies:
  • for the base an 8 1/4" x 5" piece of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045), scored on the 8 1/4" side at 1", 3 7/8", 4 7/8", and 7 3/4" (the 1/2" tab is the side glue tab); and scored on the 5" side at 1" (bottom flaps);
  • for the handles two 8 1/2" x 1/2" pieces of Basic Black cardstock, scored on the 1/2" side at 1/8" intervals (using my bone folder I slightly curled the scored handles before attaching them to the inside front and back panels);
  • an approximately 1" wide x 3" long strip of Basic Black cardstock for the scalloped trim - cut using the scalloped edge die from the Scalloped Contours dies (item 155560) - I glued the scalloped trim to the top inside of the front panel before attaching the handles;
  • Bermuda Bay patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) for the decorative paper panels for the back and side panels;
  • Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044) for the front matting panel;
  • Bermuda Bay cardstock (item 131197) for the front embossed panel - embossed using the splatters embossing folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders (item 157980);
  • Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820) to cut the watercoloured image;
  • Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096), Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095), Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708), Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry watercolour pencils (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 2 - item 149014), and Early Espresso watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 1 - item 141709) to colour the image;
  • black baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) - tied through the two green buttons; and
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the watercoloured image by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid.
I used a white gel pen to add the white dots around the witch.

You've Put A Spell On Me Flip-Top Box
(with magnet closure)
For this flip-top box with magnet closure, which measures 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide x 3/4" deep, I used the following additional supplies:
  • an 11" x 4 3/4" piece of Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044), scored on the 11" side at 1" (lid flap), 1 3/4", 6", and 6 3/4"; and scored on the 4 3/4" side at 3/4" on both edges;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the "debossed" panels for the front, back, sides, and top panels - embossed using the splatters embossing folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders (item 157980) - before gluing on the embossed panels I flipped them over to have the "debossed" side facing up;
  • Basic Black cardstock for the lid flap panel - I used a small corner-rounder punch to round the corners on both the Basic Gray cardstock lid flap and Basic Black cardstock lid flap panel;
  • Basic Gray cardstock for the sentiment tag - cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) - the Basic Black cardstock hole re-enforcer was also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies;
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiment;
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the sentiment tag to the lid flap;
  • black baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) - knotted around to secure the 3/8" green gross grain ribbon on the sentiment tag;
  • large square die from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the stamped image;
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990) for the image matting panel - the edges of which I "ruffled" by scraping the blade of my craft knife along the edges;
  • Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096), Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095), Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708), Early Espresso watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 1 - item 141709), and Cajun Craze watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 2 - item 149014) to colour the image; and
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the watercoloured image by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid.
I used a white gel pen to add highlight lines to the cauldron and hat's buckle.  For the magnet closure I used two of the small Basic Grey magnetic discs (purchased at my local scrapbooking store) - one "+" and one "-" - one glued to the underside of the lid flap and the other glued to the front panel before the embossed panel was glued on.  The magnetic discs do have adhesive backs but I always add a drop of glue (belt and suspenders . . . 😼)

Best Witches Lidded Box
For this 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" deep lidded box I used the following additional supplies:
  • for the box a 10 1/2" x 6" piece of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045), scored on the 10 1/2" side at 1 1/2", 5", 6 1/2", and 10" (1/2" tab is the side glue tab); and scored on the 6" side at 1 1/2" (bottom flaps);
  • for the lid a 5 9/16" x 3 9/16" piece of Basic Black cardstock - scored at 1" on all four sides;
  • Basic Gray/Basic Black designs paper from Black & White Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159861) for the decorative paper panels for the front, back and side panels of the box, and the sides and top of the lid;
  • large square die from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the watercoloured image;
  • Basic Black cardstock and Gorgeous Grape cardstock (item 146987) for the image matting panels;
  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the sentiment banner (cut using the large banner die from Stylish Shapes dies);
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiment;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093), Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708), Early Espresso watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 1 - item 141709), and Gorgeous Grape and Cajun Craze watercolour pencils (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 2 - item 149014) to colour the image;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the image by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid; and
  • Matte Black Dots (item 154284) - two added to the image square, and two added to the 5/8" gross grain ribbon tied around the lid.
Boo! Box
For this box that measures 4" tall x 2" wide x 1 1/4" deep I used the following additional supplies:
  • a 7" x 7" piece of Mango Melody cardstock (item 146989) - scored on one 7" side at 1 1/4", 3 1/4", 4 1/2", and 6 1/2" (1/2" tab is the side glue tab); and scored on the other 7" side at 1/2" (top flap), and 1 3/4" on one edge and at 1 1/4" (bottom flaps) on the other edge;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093) and the large splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set (item 151599) to stamp over all panels of the cut and scored (but not burnished) box;
  • Mango Melody ink, Basic Gray ink (item 149165), and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) sponged onto a piece of watercolour paper and then the Basic Gray/Memento Tuxedo Black portion spritzed lightly with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185);
  • Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) to cut the tag from the inked watercolour paper;
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiment and silhouette image on the tag;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the tag by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid; and
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the tag to the front panel of the box..
Using a hole punch I enlarged the tag hole so that I could add an eyelet - through the eyelet I threaded the 3/8" gross grain ribbon that I tied around the box.  After tying the bow I secured the tag using the Stampin' Dimensionals.  I used a 1" circle punch to cut the thumb notch along the top edge of the front panel.

Haunted House Box
For this 4" long x 2" tall x 1 1/4" deep box I used the following additional supplies:
  • an 11" x 5" piece of Cajun Craze cardstock (item 119684) for the box, scored on the 11" side at 1/2" (side glue tab), 4 1/2", 5 3/4", and 9 3/4"; and scored on the 5" side at 1 1/4", 3 1/4", and 4 1/2" (1/2" is the lid flap);
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the box by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid - this was done before the box was assembled;
  • a 3 9/16" x 1 1/2" strip of Cajun Craze cardstock for the sentiment/image panel;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the matting panel - although I embossed this piece using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406) I ended up trimming such a narrow border that very little of the embossing actually shows . . . ;
  • Basic Black cardstock for the die cut bats;
  • watercolour paper that had been sponged with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708), spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185), and splattered a little using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush (item 141897) for the die cut house;
  • small scrap of Mango Melody cardstock (item 146989), sponged with a little Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) trimmed and glued to the back of the die cut house to show through the windows; and
  • black baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) knotted through the center of the bow of the 3/8" ribbon that was tied around the box before the matted sentiment/image panel was glued on.
I used a small corner rounder punch to cut the corners of the lid flap, and a 1" circle punch to cut the thumb notch in the center top edge of the front panel.

Frankenstein Silhouette Circle Handle Bag
For this 3" tall (excluding the handles) x 2" wide x 1/2" deep treat holder I used a 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock (item 146987), scored on the 5 1/2" side at 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", and 5" (to ensure proper alignment of the box when assembled I trimmed a slight 1/16" off the right edge glue tab); and scored on the 3 1/2" side at 1/2" (bottom flaps).  Using two circle dies from the Layering Circle dies (item 151770) taped together for cutting - largest circle just under 2" diameter and the inner circle approximately 1 3/8" diameter - I cut the two handles from Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  The silhouette image was stamped on a small piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406), and cut using the smallest die from the Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820).  I distressed the panel by crumpling it up and actually removing a layer of the cardstock from the back.  I glued the distressed image panel to a Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) matting panel, the edges of which I distressed by scraping the blade of my craft knife along the edges.  Using a stapler with tiny staples I added the crossed staples at opposite corners before gluing the completed panel to the front of the treat holder.  The sentiment was also stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink on Gorgeous Grape cardstock, and the tag was cut using the small tag die included with the Mini Pocket Envelope dies (item 159167).  From Basic Black cardstock I cut matting panels for the decorative paper panels for the front and back of the treat holder.  For the decorative paper panels I used Gorgeous Grape patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258).  To attach the sentiment tag to the 3/8" black satin ribbon bow tied to the handle I used silver cord from Simply Elegant Trim (item 155766) - threaded through the center of the ribbon bow - and finally added one of each of the two sizes of the Matte Black Dots (item 154284) to the bottom corner of the front panel.

Trick or Treat You're So Sweet Shopping Bag
For this 2 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide x 1 1/2" deep "shopping bag" treat holder I used a 9 1/4" x 4 1/2" piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock (item 105117), scored on the 9 1/4" side at 3/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/4", 5", 7 3/4", and 8 1/2"; and scored on the 4 1/2" side at 1" on one edge (bottom flaps) and at 3/4" on the other edge (top fold-over for the bag).  In my July 29, 2022, blog post - https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2022/07/a-few-sale-bration-projects-featuring.html - I included a photo of the cutting/scoring diagram, which also indicates placement of the holes for the eyelets in the front and back panels.  For each handle I used an approximately 6" length of ribbon.  The ribbon handles were added, secured, and the front and back panel fold-over flaps (which cover the backs of the eyelets and the ribbon ends) glued before the assembly of the box was completed.  Before the holes were punched I glued on the matted decorative paper panels to the front and back panels of the bag.  I used Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the matting panels for the Pumpkin Pie polka dot patterned paper panels (from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Regals - item 159256).  The sentiment was stamped on Pumpkin Pie cardstock using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406), and the tag was cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563).  Through the orange button I threaded (and glued to the back of the button) a short length of white baker's twine from Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 1554475.  This little shopping bag is just the right size to hold two of the snack size Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!

And finally . . .

Lidded Boxes
For each of these boxes, which measure 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2" deep, I used the following additional supplies:
  • for the box a 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" piece of cardstock (Granny Apple Green cardstock - item 146990; Basic Gray cardstock - item 121044), scored at 1 1/2" on all four sides;
  • for the lid a 4 13/16" x 4 13/16" piece of cardstock (Gorgeous Grape cardstock - item 146987; Basic Black cardstock - item 121045), scored at 3/4" on all four sides;

  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the images by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid;
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the image circles, Granny Apple Green cardstock and Basic Black cardstock matting circles;
  • Layering Circles dies (item 151770) to cut the Granny Apple Green cardstock matting scalloped circle;
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink to stamp the "spell" sentiment on watercolour paper that had been lightly sponged with Soft Suede ink and spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185) - I distressed the edges of the sentiment strip by scraping the edges with the blade of my craft knife; and
  • for the bow tied through the purple button a length of black baker's twine from Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (item 155475).
