Quiet Meadow Watercolour Gift Card

Hello!  Today I am sharing a small watercolour gift card I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Quiet Meadow stamp set (item 155082) and the co-ordinating Meadow dies (item 155852).  Although I love working on watercolour projects anytime July is a great time to experiment with, and get inspired by, watercolouring techniques during the celebration of World Watercolour Month!
For the base of this 4" x 3" top-fold card I used Starry Sky cardstock (item 159263).  The flower was cut from watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using the Meadow dies (item 155852) and coloured using Starry Sky ink (item 159212), Evening Evergreen ink (item 155576), and Old Olive ink (item 147090).

Using the "inked stamp technique" and the "colouring image technique" (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2022/06/playing-with-few-watercolouring.html) I stamped the ledger image from the Ranunculus Romance stamp set (item 157968) in Soft Suede ink (item 147115) on watercolour paper that I had lightly spritzed with water.  After the background stamping was dry I stamped the floral image from the Quiet Meadow stamp set using Soft Suede ink.  Using a fine-tipped paint brush and very little water I coloured in the stems and shaded parts of the petals, also adding a few splatters of the Soft Suede ink.  Using the spiral notebook edge die from the Blossoming Happiness dies (item 158823) I cut one side edge of the watercolour paper panel.  To increase the distressed look I ripped the bottom edge of the panel and tore out a few of the "spirals" and sponged all the edges with Soft Suede ink

The frame, cut from watercolour paper using the Fabulous Frames dies (item 159163), was coloured using a Basic Gray ink (item 149165) wash and then over stamped using the fractured text stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and Basic Gray ink.  The edges of the frame were lightly sponged with Soft Suede ink.  After gluing the coloured flower die cut to the frame I glued a piece of Vellum Cardstock (item 101856) that I had embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item 156505) behind the frame.  The frame was then glued over the watercolour paper panel.  To the flower die cut I glued a Linen Thread (item 104199) bow.  To the bottom right corner of the card I added two of the new Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082).  I think I will use this little card as an insert in my garden/flower themed junk journal.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  I had a lot of fun working on this card!
