Daffodil Daydream Bundle

"I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
. . .
For oft, when on my  couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils."
I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud (Daffodils) - William Wordsworth

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Bundle (item 157795) - which includes the Daffodil Daydream stamp set (item 157786) and the Daffodil dies (item 157794).  The stamp set and the dies can of course be purchased separately but, until June 30, 2022, when purchased together there is a 10% bundle saving!
My inspiration for this card was a neighbour's daffodils growing against the house foundation and the hundreds of little purple/blue flowers carpeting the lawn!  For this 6 1/2" x 5 1/8" card I used the following supplies:
  • Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) - for the card base and for the frame, which was cut using the new Fabulous Frames dies (item 159163);
  • for the daffodil flower and bud - Very Vanilla cardstock (item 101650) and So Saffron cardstock (item 105118), which I lightly sponged with Mango Melody Ink (item 147093) and stamped, using the splatter stamp from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set, also in Mango Melody Ink;
  • Garden Green cardstock (item 102584) for the stems, leaves, and grasses, which I lightly sponged with Old Olive Ink (item 147090);
  • Highland Heather cardstock (item 146986), Gorgeous Grape cardstock (item 146987), and Orchid Oasis cardstock (item 159267) for the little flowers, which were cut using the little flower dies included with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 157641).  I lightly sponged the little flowers with Starry Sky Ink (item 159212).  To the center of each flower I added one of the small Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots (item 158146);
  • the Meadow dies (item 155852), Poppy Moments dies (item 151594), and Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951) to cut additional leaves and the grasses;
  • the Harvest dies (item 156504) to cut the branch;
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the embossed panel (embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder - item 149643), and for the branch;
  • Flowering Fields 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 157670) for the green checked paper on the front panel - I sponged the edges of the DSP with Old Olive Ink;
  • Highland Heather cardstock and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the matting panels for the DSP panel;
  • Very Vanilla cardstock for the sentiment panel;
  • Soft Suede Ink (item 147115) to stamp the sentiment (from the Easter Friends stamp set - item 157737) and daffodil image on the inside of the card, and to sponge the embossed panel, frame, and the branch;
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) for the daffodil flower and bud;
  • Foam Adhesive Strips (item 141825) to adhere the framed panel to the front of the card;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - wrapped around the matted DSP panel before it was attached to the front of the card and before the framed panel was attached; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).

The only thing better than a daffodil is a daffodil planted in a teacup!  I coloured the stamped daffodil and butterfly using alcohol markers and colour pencils and used the following additional supplies for this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card:
  • Starry Sky cardstock (item 159263) for the card base and DSP matting panel;

  • Cup of Tea Bundle (item 158667) - which includes the Cup of Tea stamp set (item 158661) and the Teacup dies (item 160186) - to stamp and cut the teacup, and to cut the little heart;

  • Glossy Dots Assortment (item 158827) - three sizes of the Pool Party dots used on the front of the card; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
My last project is a 4" x 4" notebook with one signature of 6 sheets of coffee-dyed paper (making 24 sheets), "sewn" in with brown embroidery floss using the three-hole pamphlet stitch (for a detailed description of the three-hole pamphlet stitch please see my blog post of February 17, 2022 (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-few-projects-using-ranunculus-romance.html).  The stamped daffodil and butterfly were coloured with alcohol markers and colour pencils.  I used the following additional supplies:
  • Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) for the cover (4" x 8", scored at 4" on the 8" side), and for the tag hole re-enforcer;
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the tag;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the daffodil and butterfly;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the daffodil and butterfly;

  • Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) to cut the tag and hole re-enforcer;
  • Soft Suede Ink (item 147115) to sponge the Crumb Cake cardstock tag, the DSP banner pieces, around the window, to stamp the "spring" sentiment (from the Easter Friends stamp set - item 157737), and to sponge the edges of the notebook sheets;
  • a scrap of Pool Party cardstock (item 122924) to stamp the "spring" sentiment on;
  • Flowering Fields 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 157670) for all DSP;
  • the new Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the circle window and the DSP banner;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - for the tag;
  • the new Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - two small and two large used to embellish the cover; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
Before I cut the circle window I added the green checked DSP and Crumb Cake cardstock tag to the front cover.  After gluing the daffodil to the inside of the circle I added the DSP panels behind the window and to the inside of the back cover - now I have included tulips, the other iconic spring flower, to my spring notebook!

To make this Stampin' Up! cardstock sampler I used the Stitched Rectangle dies (item 151820) to cut a 2 3/4" x 1 3/8" rectangle from each colour of cardstock - to the back of each rectangle I added a label with the full name of the colour, punched a small hole and added the rectangles to a binder ring and small ball chain.  I have found this very handy to carry with me when I am shopping - never know when you will happen upon some interesting ribbon or buttons that just might be a perfect match!

How is it possible that it is only spring but already 30 degrees celcius? Too hot to even work up the energy to go to the window to watch the squirrels!
