Woodland Wishes!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using the Stampin’ Up!® Woodland Wishes photopolymer stamp set (item 168243), which was included in the July 1st release of new Online Exclusvies Products.
To complete my projects this week I also used the following Stampin’ Up!® dies and Designer Series Papers:
  • from the Pretty Poinsettia dies (item 168146), which were also part of the July 1st release of new Online Exclusives Products, I used several of the the flower, the flower centers, and the large leafy stem dies;
  • from the Online Exclusives Rolling Waves dies (item 167144) I used the large leaf die;
  • from the Sweet Bugs dies (item 167001) I used the two-leafed stem die;
  • from the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) I used the 1 3/4" diameter circle die and the shorter of the two narrow banner dies;
  • from the Gears & Textures dies (item 166853) I used the hole punch strip die;
  • I used four of the arch dies from the Online Exclusives Everyday Arches dies (item 164629);
  • I used two patterned papers from the Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 163163393);
  • I used a Pecan Pie patterned paper from the Wood Grain Wonders 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 167428);
  • I used a linen patterned paper from the recently retired Woven Textures 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 165560) as a background panel on one of the framed projects;
  • for the background panel on the fox and hedgehog project I used one of the plaid patterned papers from the recently retired Timeles Plaid 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 164678); and
  • for the background panel on the first project I used an Early Espresso wood grain patterned paper from the retired In Good Taste 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 152494 - featured in the June 3 2020-May 3 2021 Annual Catalogue).
On two of the projects I used strips of cardstock that had been embossed using the retired Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406 - featured in the May 2024-April 2025 Annual Catalogue).  These strips were leftovers from previous projects, and prior to running the cardstock and embossing folder through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) I had dragged my Basic Gray ink pad (item 149165) for the Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983), and my Early Espresso ink pad (item 147114) for the Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686), over the raised design on one of the inside panels of the embossing folder to ensure that the ink would be transferred to the debossed portions of the design on the embossed cardstock.
All of the images, and the sentiment, were stamped on watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink (purchased at my local paper crafting shop).  For colouring the images I used the following Classic Stampin' inks and Classic Stampin' ink refills mixed with water and applied with a small paint brush:
  • Daffodil Delight ink (item 147094);
  • Lemon Lime Twist ink refill (item 144092);
  • Granny Apple Green ink refill (item 147163);
  • Real Red ink (item 147084);
  • Old Olive ink (item 147090);
  • Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111);
  • Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118);
  • Pecan Pie ink refill (item 161669);
  • Crumb Cake ink (item 147116);
  • Gray Granite ink (item 147118);
  • Basic Gray ink (item 149165); and
  • Pool Party ink refill (item 122933).
For a little additional shading on a few of the coloured images I also used - as regular coloured pencils - the Real Red, Pecan Pie, Old Olive, and Early Espresso watercolour pencils from Watercolour Pencils Assortment 1 (item 161700), and the Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Cajun Craze watercolour pencils from Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 (item 149014).
For applying Classic Stampin' inks to cardstock die cuts for shading I used Small Blending Brushes (item 160518 - package of three) and the finger Sponge Daubers (item 133773 - package of five).
For the foliage die cuts I used Old Olive cardstock (item 100702) and Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676), both shaded using Mossy Meadow ink; and Pool Party cardstock (item 122924), shaded using Pool Party ink (item 147107) with a tiny bit of Mossy Meadow ink (essentially what remained on the Sponge Dauber).  For a slight mottled effect on the Rolling Waves large leaf die cut I lightly misted the shaded cardstock die cut with water using one of the Stampin' Spritzers (item 126185 - package of two), allowing to air dry.
In addition to the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653), which was used for all die cutting and embossing, I used the following basic tools and supplies to complete my projects this week

  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) for trimming cardstock and Designer Series Paper, and for scoring card fold lines - to ensure crisp folds I also burnished all the folded scored lines with my Bone Folder (item 102300);
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the tacky putty tip is definitely a great help for picking up and placing small die cuts and embellishments; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
On with the projects!
In addition to the dollar store wood frame, glass removed, inside back dimensions of 6" x 4", and the In Good Taste DSP used to cover the medium weight cardboard panel trimmed to fit the frame, I used the following additional supplies to complete the first project:
  • Poppy Parade cardstock (item 119793), shaded with Real Red ink (item 147084) and a little Cherry Cobbler ink (item 147083), for the flower die cuts;
  • Crushed Curry cardstock (item 131199), shaded with a little Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), for the flower centers;
  • I used the long-retired Stampin’ Up!® Extra Large Photo Corners Punch (item 119878) to "flag" the ends of the trimmed sentiment strip; and
  • I added one of the small Early Espresso dots from the Online Exclusives Earthy Matte Dots (itme 167213) to the flower center.
I cut four additional arches from a heavy weight white cardstock I had on hand, and stacked and glued these behind the watercolour paper image arch.  I then cut two pieces of medium weight cardboard to glue behind the arches in order that the arch die cuts would be even with the frame's edges.  After gluing the arches to the backing panel (which had first been secured into the frame) I glued the strips of embossed cardstock along the bottom edge of the image arch, trimmed in length so that they would span the distance between the outer edges of the frame's lighter coloured inner frame.  After attaching the flower and foliage die cuts I glued on the sentiment banner.

For the second project I began with another dollar store frame, glass removed, inside back dimensions of 7" x 5".  I used the linen patterned Woven Textures DSP to cover the medium weight cardboard panel that was trimmed to fit the frame.  To complete the project I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the 6" x 4" panel, and the Gears & Textures strip die cut;
  • Berry Burst cardstock (item 144243), shaded using Berry Burst ink (item 147143), for the flower die cuts;
  • Pool Party cardstock (item 122924), shaded using Pool Party ink (item 147107) for the flower centers - to the center of the flower I added one of the large Pecan Pie dots from the Earthy Matte Dots (item 167213); and
  • to provide a little more stability to the watercolour paper image arch I glued behind it an additional die cut cardstock arch, and again, as with the first project, added trimmed pieces of medium weight cardboard behind the image arch to give it a little dimension from the background panel.  Before gluing the image arch to the background I glued the embossed cardstock strip along the bottom edge of the image arch and added a trimmed piece of cardboard behind the strip as well.
To complete the third project I used a thrift store wood frame, glass removed, inside back dimensions of 4 1/8" square, and the following additional supplies:
  • Timeless Plaid DSP to cover the medium weight cardboard panel trimmed to fit the frame;
  • Petal Pink cardstock (item 146985), shaded with Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), for the flower die cuts - for the flower centers I used one large and two small of the Pecan Pie dots from the Earthy Matte Dots (item 167213); and
  • I glued the die cut image circle to a 2 1/2" diameter x just less than a 1/4" thick wood slice, which was from a large bag of wood slices that I found in the craft aisle at Dollarama - you can never have too many wood slices!
To complete this 5" x 4" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card base;
  • a 4 7/8" x 3 7/8" panel of Country Woods DSP for the card front, and a 3/4" x 3 3/4" strip for the inside of the card.  Around the edges of the DSP panel I sponged Crumb Cake ink (item 147116);
  • after gluing the DSP panel to the card front I wrapped around the panel a length of the retired Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon (item 161982 - featured in the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue), positioning the tied bow to the far left side;
  • to stabilize the image arch I again glued to the back an additional die cut cardstock arch; and
  • for the inside panel a 4 5/8" x 3 3/4" panel of Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229).
To complete this 4" x 3 1/4" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the card base;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card front's 3 7/8" x 3 1/8" panel and 1/2" x 3" strip, and the card's inside 1/8" x 3 1/4" strip;
  • from the Pecan Pie patterned Wood Grain Wonders DSP a 3 3/4" x 3" panel, the edges sponged with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665);
  • from the Country Woods DSP a 1 1/4" x 3" strip for the card front, and a 3/4" x 3 1/4" strip for the inside of the card - all edges sponged with Crumb Cake ink (item 147116); and
  • after gluing the stabilizing cardstock arch behind the image arch and gluing it all to the card front I added the small image banner, to the back right of which I added some trimmed cardstock pieces so that it would be level with the image arch.
And finally . . .
For my Archie card project this week, shared at the bottom of this blog post, I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the image and sentiment from the retired Pretty Kitty stamp set (item 141864 - featured in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue) on watercolour paper, and used Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118), and Gray Granite ink (item 147118) to colour the image.  To cut the sentiment banner I used the Perennial Postage dies (item 162607).  I used Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the base of the 3 1/2" square top-fold card, and for the 3 1/4" square framing panel.  After using my retired Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to add splatters to the framing panel and gluing over the framing panel a 1 1/4" wide strip of the Pumpkin Pie patterned paper from the retired Stargazing 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161175 - featured in the May 2023-April 2024 Annual Catalogue) and a 1/4" wide strip of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) I used the 2 1/8" diameter circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the window opening.  I used double-sided tape (Tear & Tape Adhesive - item 154031) to adhere the framing panel over the trimmed image panel, matting with a 3 3/8" square piece of Basic Black cardstock.  I used Petal Pink cardstock (item 146985) for the Pretty Poinsettia flowers, shading using Pumpkin Pie ink.  To the center of the flower I added one of the small white dots from the Natural Matte Dots (item 167510).  To the inside of the card I added a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of the Stargazing DSP, a 1/4" x 3 1/2" strip of Basic Black cardstock, over both of which I glued the sentiment banner.
