Dance With Me In The Storybook Garden Patch!

Hello and Happy New Year!  Today I am sharing a few card projects I worked on this week using a few new Stampin’ Up!® products from the upcoming January-April 2025 Mini Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  The January-April 2025 Mini Catalogue launches on January 7, 2025, which is also the date that the 2025 annual Sale-A-Bration Promotion begins, and new products in the Online Exclusives line will be released - certainly lots to look forward to!  For more details about the Sale-A-Bration Promotion that will run until Febuary 28, 2025, please see my blog post from December 27, 2024 (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2024/12/looking-forward-to-january-7-2025-hello.html).
The Storybook Garden Patch stamp set (item 164663) and co-ordinating Storybook Garden Patch dies (item 164666) - if you would like to take advantage of the 10% Bundled Savings the stamp set and dies are also available together in the Storybook Garden Patch Bundle (item 164667) - are featured as part of the Storybook Moments Suite Collection (item 164681) in the January-April 2025 Mini Catalogue:
The Timeless Plaid 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 164678), one design of which I used in my first card project, is also part of the Storybook Moments Suite Collection.
The Dance With Me photopolymer stamp set (item 164957), which I used for my last two cards, is one of the Sale-A-Bration products that can be selected for FREE with a purchase of $75.00 CDN (before applicable taxes and shipping) of Stampin’ Up!® products:

Just a brief summary of the basic tools and supplies I used to complete my projects this week:

  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for trimming cardstock and Designer Series Paper
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) for scoring fold lines on cardstock;
  •  Bone Folder (item 102300) for burnishing scored fold lines ;
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
  • Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - these sharp little scissors are perfect for doing any necessary trimming of die cuts - and of course they make fussy cutting a whole lot easier too!;

  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer, mini spatula, and tacky putty tips are a great help for picking up and placing small embellishments; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).

I used Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the images for colouring on watercolour paper, and coloured the images using small paint brushes to apply Classic Stampin' inks/ink refills mixed with a little water.  I also used Stazon Jet Black Ink to stamp the sentiments.

To add a little colour to the embossed watercolour paper panel in my "Enjoy Today"  dancing couple card (the last card project) I used one of the Blending Brushes (item 153611) to apply Real Red ink (item 147084).  For a little additional visual texture - a slightly mottled effect - I lightly spritzed the shaded embossed watercolour paper panel with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185), blotting dry with paper towel.

For all card bases I used Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229 - package of twenty-four 8 1/2" x 11" sheets).

On with the projects!

Never too early to be looking forward to enjoying a harvest from the garden patch!

Additional supplies used to complete this 5" square top-fold card:
  • Boho Blue/Pebbled Path patterned paper from the Timeless Plaid DSP for the 4 1/2" square panel for the card front - the bold font sentiment I stamped directly onto the DSP panel is from the Attention Shoppers stamp set (item 163640).  I added a 5" x 1" wide strip of the DSP to the inside panel.  I sponged all edges of the DSP panel and strip with Basic Gray ink ((item 149165);
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the 4 5/8" square matting panel;
  • Pebbled Path cardstock (item 161722) for the 4 3/4" square matting panel;
  • to colour the tools, produce, and pots I used Basic Gray ink, Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Lemon Lime Twist ink refill (item 144092) - base layer for the leaves, lettuce, and beans, Old Olive ink (item 147090), Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), Shaded Spruce ink (item 147088), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), Real Red ink (item 147084), Cherry Cobbler ink (item 147083), and Blackberry Bliss ink (item 147092) - the perfect beet colour! I actually die cut the images before colouring.  I arranged and glued the die cuts together before adding the completed assemblage to the card front; and
  • as a little extra embellishment to the card front I added two of the small and two of the large white dots from the retired Classic Matte Dots (item 158146 - May 2023-April 2024 Annual Catalogue).
I am hoping 😏 that these two 4" x 3" top-fold cards will be the start of a small series of garden-themed note cards that I will be able to suitably package as a gift for an avid gardener.  For these cards I used two patterns of Garden Green DSP from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments-Regals (item 163774), using Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the matting panels, cut to allow for a 1/8" border.  On the flower pot card I cut my matted DSP panel in half to create the two staggered horizontal panels.

To colour the tools, produce, and pots I again used Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), Lemon Lime Twist ink refill (item 144092), Old Olive ink (item 147090), Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), Real Red ink (item 147084), Cherry Cobbler ink (item 147083), and Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086). On the flower pot card, after gluing the strawberries to the side of the pots, I used Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach and pop up the pots and strawberries.  To the flower pot card I also added two of the small and two of the large black dots from the retired Classic Matte Dots (item 158146).

Dance Like No One Is Watching!
I used the following additional supplies to complete this 5 1/2" x 3 7/8" top-fold card:
  • Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118), Real Red ink (item 147084), Pool Party ink (item 147107), Shaded Spruce ink (item 147088), and Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) to colour the dancing couple image.  I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 162481) to add a few splatters by flicking the brush tip against the marker lid - using post-it notes to cover the figures and hearts;
  • 2 3/4" x 2" rectangle die from Perennial Postage dies (item 162607) to cut the image rectangle;
  • Cherry Cobbler/Real Red heart patterned paper from the Marbled Elegance 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 164919) for the 5 1/16" x 3 1/2" panel, and the 3 1/4" x 3/4" strip on the inside panel - all edges sponged with Cherry Cobbler ink (item 147083);
  • two patterns of Shaded Spruce DSP from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments-Regals (item 163774) for the 2" x 7/8" panels on the card front, and the striped pattern for the inside panel's 2 1/4" x 1/2" strip;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the 5 3/16" x 3 5/8" and 3" x 2/18" matting panels (I scraped the edges of the larger matting panel with the blade of my craft knife), and the inside panel's 3 7/8" x 1/8" strip;
  • small scrap of Basic White Thick cardstock for the trimmed sentiment - the sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration product that is available for FREE with a $75.00 CDN (before applicable taxes and shipping) purchase of Stampin’ Up!® products - the Friendly Seagulls photopolymer stamp set (item 164961).  I sponged the edges of the trimmed sentiment strip with Basic Gray ink; and
  • for a few extra embellishments for the card front I added two of the small and two of the large black dots from the retired Classic Matte Dots.
And finally . . .
Additional supplies used to complete this 4" square top-fold card:
  • Calypso Coral ink (item 147101), Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118), Real Red ink (item 147084), Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), and Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) to colour the dancing couple image.  I added a little shimmer by painting the hearts, and the lady's belt and shoes with my Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush (item 141897);
  • 2 1/2" diameter circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the image circle;
  • Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (item 164049) to emboss the 3 5/8" square watercolour paper panel (I used the debossed side for the top-facing side);
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the embossed panel's 3 3/4" square matting panel, and the sentiment label's 2 1/4" x 7/8" matting panel;
  • after gluing the embossed watercolour paper panel to the Basic Black cardstock matting panel I used a length of Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon (item 161982) to tie the bow around the panels. Before tying the bow I secured the ribbon to the embossed panel using one of the Mini Glue Dots (item 103683). After gluing the matted panel with bow to the card front I used Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach and pop up the image circle - when using Dimensionals I do not use them sparingly!; and
  • Beach Day stamp set (item 162797) for the "Enjoy Today" sentiment that was stamped on Basic White Thick cardstock.  I used the smallest of the two scalloped-ended rectangle dies from the Grow With Love dies (item 164803).  These dies are one of the new Online Exclusives being released on January 7.
