That's A Wrap!
Hello! With the BIG DAY fast approaching today I am sharing a few last minute festive packaging projects I worked on this week using a variety of Stampin’ Up!® products - including the following retiring Last Chance Products (these retiring products from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalogue or Online Exclusives line are available only while supplies last):
- Mini Pocket Envelope dies (item 159167) - discounted to $24.00 - cardstock bows.
Just a quick summary of the basic tools and supplies I used to complete my projects this week:
- Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for trimming and scoring cardstock, and for trimming Designer Series Paper;
- Bone Folder (item 102300) for burnishing scored fold lines ;
- Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
- Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - these sharp little scissors are perfect for doing any necessary trimming of die cuts (i.e. dividing a foliage spray or shortening the length of pine branches);
- Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer, mini spatula, and tacky putty tips are a great help for picking up and placing small embellishments and die cuts; and
- for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
I used Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the images for colouring on watercolour paper, and coloured the images using Classic Stampin' inks mixed with a little water and applied with small paint brushes.
To add shading to embossed cardstock panels and cardstock die cuts I used Small Blending Brushes (item 160518) to apply Classic Stampin' Inks to the cardstock panels/die cuts. For a little additional visual texture - a slightly mottled effect - I lightly spritzed a few of the shaded cardstock die cuts with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185).
For each of these three 6 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide x 1/2" deep flip-top boxes made to hold a hot chocolate mix pouch I used a 7 3/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock, scored on the 7 3/4" side at 3 1/4", 3 3/4", 7", and 7 1/2" (1/4" tab is the glue tab); and scored on the 8 1/2" side at 1/2" (bottom flaps), 6 3/4", and 7 1/4". I have included a template photo:
The 1 1/4" tab on the back panel is the front flap (I used a small corner rounder punch to round the corners); and the 1/2" tab on the top of the front panel is glued to the inside of the front panel. For each box I used two small magnetic discs (a "+" and a "-") purchased at my local scrapbooking shop. I glued one magnetic disc to the underside of the top flap and one to the front panel - the discs on the front panels are covered with the matted DSP panels. I cut the cardstock and DSP panels to be 1/8" smaller on each side than the corresponding cardstock panels on the box. I did not add cardstock matting panels to the DSP strips added to the sides and top of the boxes.

I had so much fun making the explosion boxes a few weeks ago (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2024/12/festive-favours-hello-today-i-am.html) I had to make another one - but a little smaller! To complete this 2" square box I used the following additional supplies:
- for the box a 6" x 6" piece of Real Red cardstock (item 102482), scored at 2" on all four sides - with the four corner squares cut out;

- Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) - trimmed as necessary - to attach the die cut trees and snowflake "gingerbread cookies" to the box's inside panels; and
- three of the white dots - two small and one large - from the retired Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) added to the top of the lid.
And finally . . .
Of course you need a Santa suit treat box for the Christmas dinner table! To complete this handled box that measures 3 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide x 1" deep I used the following additional supplies:
- for the box a 9" x 4 1/4" piece of Real Red cardstock (item 102482), scored on the 9" side at 1", 4 1/4", 5 1/4", and 8 1/2" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scored on the 4 1/4" side at 1" (bottom flaps);
- Real Red cardstock embossed using the So Swirly Embossing Folder (item 163791), and shaded with Real Red ink (item 147084), for the embossed panels added to the front, back, and both sides of the box;
- Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the handles, belt (1" wide strip wrapped around the box), and buckle center piece;
- largest and second largest circle dies from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the circle frames used for the handles. I used low-tack tape to hold the two dies in place while I ran the dies and cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. For each handle I cut two frames, which I glued together with wrong sides together. I glued the frame handles to the inside of the front and back panels of the box so that approximately half of each frame would extend above the box's top edges;
- gold paper from Textured Metallic 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (item 163722) for the belt buckle. Just for a little more decorative detail for the buckle I used two dies to cut the buckle: I placed the smallest square die from the Stylish Shapes dies inside the smallest scalloped square die from the Perennial Postage dies (item 162607) and held the dies together using low-tack tape while I ran the dies and the gold paper through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. I glued the two buckle die cuts centered over the Basic Black cardstock belt, and trimmed the small piece of Basic Black cardstock added to the center of the buckle so that the detailed edge of the Stylish Shapes square die cut would still be visible beyond the edges of the cardstock square;
- gold paper from Textured Metallic 12" x 12" Specialty Paper for the berry sprig cut using the Changing Leaves dies (item 164138);
- Old Olive cardstock (item 100702), shaded with Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), for the small-leafed spray cut using the Sophisticated Sled dies (item 164133);
- Garden Green cardstock (item 102584), shaded with Mossy Meadow ink, for the two pine branches cut using the Encircled In Nature dies (item 163628);
- Real Red cardstock, shaded with Real Red ink, for the two small poinsettia flowers cut using the retired Poinsettia dies (item 153522);
- small scrap of Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229), shaded with Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), for the small flower cut using the Country Birdhouse dies (item 163400);
- one large black dot from the retired Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) added to the center of the flower; and
- for the bow glued to the handle, Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon (item 161982).
