Snowy Wonders!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using a few new Stampin' Up! products:  the Sophisticated Sled Bundle (item 164134), which includes the Sophisticated Sled photopolymer stamp set (item 164340) and the co-ordinating Sophisticated Sled dies (item 164133), is one of the Online Exclusives products introduced in July; the Snowy Wonder Bundle (item 164125), which includes the Snowy Wonder photopolymer stamp set (item 164334) and the co-ordinating Snowy Wonder dies (item 164124), is one of the products included in the Snowy Scenes Suite Collection (item number 164130) featured in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalogue that launches on September 4, 2024.  Each of the Bundle items - stamp set and dies - can also of course be purchased individually - but when purchased together using the Bundle item number there is a 10% Bundled Savings!  The Yuletide Village stamp set (item 164310), from which I used the church and two side-by-side houses images, is a stand alone photopolymer stamp set also featured in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalogue - and co-ordinates very well with the Snowy Wonder Bundle

The digital version of the September-December 2024 Mini Catalogue will be available for you to access at your convenience on my website (https://archiesatelier.stampinup.net/) starting September 4, 2024 - there are lots of exciting new products!  Simultaneously with the launch of the Mini Catalogue Stampin' Up! will be launching a digital only companion brochure to the Mini Catalogue:  the September 2024 Scrapbooking Brochure will feature products that co-ordinate with products from the Mini Catalogue and with some Online Exclusives products too, and will include Scrapbooking Workshop Kits, and the new 12" x 12" white core Two-Tone Cardstock that will be available in Garden Green, Pool Party, Real Red, Basic Black, Petal Pink, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, and Gorgeous Grape.  Some of this new Two-Tone Cardstock, which has the base colour on one side and a lighter shade of the base colour on the other side, will be available in individual colour packs while others will be available in mutli-colour packs.  The digital only September 2024 Scrapbooking Brochure will also be available for you to access at your convenience on my website starting September 4, 2024.

Just a quick reminder that August 31, 2024, is the last day of the August Designer Series Paper Sale, and the final day to redeem the Bonus Days coupons earned on orders that were placed during July!

Just a brief summary of the basic tools and supplies I used to complete my projects this week:

  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for trimming paper and cardstock - can also be used for scoring;
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring card fold lines - to ensure crisp folds I also burnish all folded scored lines using my Bone Folder (item 102300);
  • Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - these sharp little scissors are great for fussy cutting (snowman's hat), and for doing any necessary trimming of die cuts - i.e. separating sections of a leafy swag, or trimming off sections of a skate blade;
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer, mini spatula, and tacky putty tips are a great help for picking up and placing small die cuts and embellishments; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
For the watercoloured images I used Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the images on watercolour paper, and coloured the images with Classic Stampin' Inks mixed with a little water and applied with small paint brushes.  Additional images were stamped on watercolour paper using Classic Stampin' Inks and die cut using the stamp set's co-ordinating dies (i.e. Snowy Wonder snowman, trees, snowflakes, and holly berries and leaves).  I also used Stazon Jet Black Ink to stamp the sentiments.

The bases of both snow globes were die cut from Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) that had been embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406), one inside panel of which had been inked with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665).  To ink the embossing folder I dragged my ink pad across the raised design on one of the inside panels so that the ink would be transferred to the debossed portions of the embossed cardstock panel.  After carefully gluing the bases to the globes, and before securing the completed globes to the card fronts, I used Linen Thread (item 104199) to tie the bows around the bases.

Using the Sophisticated Sled dies I die cut the two sleds (one for card and one for tag) from watercolour paper - using Small Blending Brushes (item 160518) to apply Basic Gray ink (item 149165) to the frame, and Crumb Cake ink (item 147116), Pecan Pie ink, and Early Espresso ink (item 147114) to the "wood" portions.  I lightly misted the inked frame pieces with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185) to get a slightly mottled effect.  I added small Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots (item 163338) to the exposed attachment points on the sled (small die cut holes in the "wood" portions of the sled).

Using two sizes of the same design of flower dies from the Country Birdhouse dies (item 163400) I cut the festive flowers from Real Red cardstock (item 102482).  I also used the double-leaf die from the Country Birdhouse dies to cut cardstock leaves for the snowman Good Tidings card and the sled with skates card.

To apply ink for shading on die cuts I used Small Blending Brushes (item 160518).

On with the projects!
Additional supplies used to complete this 5" square top-fold card:
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the card base;
  • Shaded Spruce cardstock (item 146981) for the 4 7/8" square matting panel, and the two double-leaves die cut using the Country Birdhouse dies - these two die cuts were shaded with Shaded Spruce ink (item 147088);
  • Garden Green cardstock (item 102584) for the leafy swag die cut using the Sophisticated Sled dies - shaded with Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111);
  • white and gold patterned paper from the Nature's Sweetness 12" x 12" Designer Series Specialty Paper (item 162616) for the 4 5/8" square panel;
  • Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the three trees and snowflake;
  • Pool Party ink (item 147107) and Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) for the colouring on the snowman (shadows and nose);
  • watercolour paper for the die cut globe, and for the snow layer that was initially die cut using the curved border die from the Around The Bend dies (item 160649).  I used the globe die from the Snowy Wonder dies to cut the bottom curve of the snow layer so that it would align with the bottom of the globe die cut.  I used one of the Small Blending Brushes to apply Pool Party ink to both the globe and the snow layer - lightly misting both inked pieces with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185);
Around The Bend dies - 160649
  • after gluing the small stamped/die cut tree to the side of the snowman I used Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the snowman to the globe;
  • watercolour paper for the torn-end sentiment tag, which was die cut using the Greetings Of The Season dies (item 164112).  I trimmed one  of the Stampin' Dimensionals to use behind the torn end of the sentiment tag; and
Greetings Of The Season dies - 164112

  • Peach Pie coloured dots from the 2024-2026 In Colour Resin Dots (item 163389) added to flower centers.

  • Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon (item 161982) for the bow.
Tags are a lot of fun to work on and are of course great for adding to packages but they also make great tree ornaments!

And finally . . .
