(Bundle - 162741)

For the gardening gloves, and garden spade used on two of the cards I used the retired Home & Garden stamp set (item 157910), and the retired co-ordinating Garden dies (item 157918):

Just a quick note about the standard tools and supplies I used to complete my projects this week:
  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for cutting cardstock and paper;
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring cardstock (for folds and as a decorative element).  I burnished folds with my Bone Folder (item 102300);
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
  • Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - for fussy cutting truck image;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - for picking up and placing small embellishments the tacky putty tip is a great help; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
All stamped and die cut images were stamped on watercolour paper using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406), and coloured with Classic Stampin' inks - I transferred ink from the pad to the lid of the pad and applied the ink to the images using paint brushes and water.

On with the projects!

My first project is a handled garden shed purse/gift bag (a slight variation of a style I have made several times) with magnetic closure, and using some leftover images I had some fun making a few small cards!

Additional supplies used to complete this 5 1/2" tall (excluding roof) x 4" wide x 1 1/4" deep garden shed purse/gift bag:
  • for the box portion an 8" x 11" piece of Pebbled Path cardstock (item 161722), scored on the 8" side at 1 1/4" and 6 3/4"; and scored on the 11" side at 1 1/4", 5 1/4", 6 1/2", and 10 1/2" (1/2" tab is glue tab).  On the 1 1/4" top section I cut straight down the score lines for the side and front and back tabs; on the 1 1/4" bottom section I made the angle cuts as shown on the template photo:
  • for the front, back and side matting panels:  two 5 3/8" x 3 7/8" pieces and two 5 3/8" x 1 1/8" pieces of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045);
  • for the embossed front, back and side panels:  two 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" pieces and two 5 1/4" x 1" pieces of Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717).  I embossed these pieces using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406) - before embossing I dragged my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink pad (item 132708) across the raised design on the inside side of the embossing folder without the Stampin' Up! logo - from one of the larger embossed panels I cut the window opening, and from the inside window panel I cut the fence.  I sponged all edges of the embossed panels with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665);
  • for each base roof section:  one 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock - scored on the 2 1/2" side at 1" (top panel);
  • additional pieces for each roof section:  one 4 1/8" x 2 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock, scored 10 times along the 2 3/8" side every 1/8" (this scored piece is glued to the bottom panel of the base roof section); one 4 1/8" x 7/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock, scored 6 times along the 7/8" side every 1/8" (this scored piece is glued to the top panel of the base roof section); and one 4 1/8" x 7/8" strip of Basic Black cardstock - this is glued to the inside of the top panel after the handles and magnets are glued on - this extra cardstock strip, which is not scored, is just to keep things neat.  I glued the scored cardstock panels with the raised portions of the scored lines facing up - thought this might look more like roofing material!  On the underside of each bottom roof section I drew a pencil line 1/8" in from each side - using these as guide lines when gluing the top sections of the front and back of the box to the underside of the roof sections;
  • for the handles I cut two circle frames using the largest and third largest circle dies from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183); glued the two frames together with wrong sides together; and then cut the frame in half (approximately 1 1/2") - using one half for each handle;

For my last two gift cards, for which I also used the same Garden Meadow image on the card front, I used the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder (item 162189) from the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue to emboss the main front panels.  On the Coastal Cabana card I added a die cut strip of Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) that had been embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406) inked with Basic Gray ink (item 149165).  The embossed cardstock strip was die cut using the Gorgeously Made dies (item 161202).
