Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using a few of the products that Stampin' Up! recently added to the Clearance Rack, including:
  • All Bundled Up stamp set - item 159824 ($22.25) - I just can't resist the moose!;

  • Window dies - item 159756 ($22.50);
Window dies - 159756
  • Scary Silhouette dies - item 159851 ($11.75) - as soon as I saw the haunted house die when this set was introduced last year I knew I "needed" these dies (there are actually 12 dies in this set - unfortunately I have lost the little quarter moon die);
Scary Silhouette dies - 159851
  • Scottie Dog Punch - item 159743 ($11.00); and
  • Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon - item 158129 ($4.10).
The Clearance Rack products were of course augmented with current Stampin' Up! products, including the following dies:
  • Cheerful Daisies dies (item 161296) - used the medium daisies, Real Red ink (item 147084), Daffodil Delight ink (item 147094) and quite a bit of artistic licence to make poinsettias;
Cheerful Daisies dies - 161296
  • Dainty Delight dies (item 160674) - small daisies, and Queen Anne's Lace ("hello" window card);

Around The Bend dies - 160649
Just a quick note about the standard tools and supplies I used to complete the projects:
  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for cutting paper and cardstock - can also be used for scoring;
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring cardstock fold lines - to ensure crisp fold lines I burnished the score lines using my Bone Folder (item 102300) - I also used the Bone Folder to gently curve the handles for the tote bags before adhering them to the bags;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the tacky putty and paper piercer tips are certainly a great help in picking up and placing small embellishments and die cuts;
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
All stamped and coloured images were stamped on watercolour paper using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and coloured with Stampin' Up! inks (ink pads) - the inks were applied using a paintbrush and water (with the ink pads closed the lid and bottom can be pressed together to transfer ink to the inside of the lid - or ink can be transferred directly to a clean clear block or other non-absorbing surface - save a few plastic lids from the recycling bin!).

All die cuts - with the exception of the little blossom leafy sprigs used on the moose tote bag, which were cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 153081) and sponged with Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111) - were cut from watercolour paper and coloured with Stampin' Up! inks applied with Blending Brushes (item 153611) and Small Blending Brushes (item 160518).  To apply the Daffodil Delight ink to the centers of the small daisies I used a small pointed tip makeup sponge that I picked up at Dollar Tree.  For a little more weathered look on the window frames after blending on a light layer of Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) I placed the die cut frames face down onto the open Pecan Pie ink pad, randomly pushing against the back of the die cuts with my fingers - can get a little messy but fun!  To colour the inside window frame sections I used Basic Gray ink (item 149165) and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708); and to colour the window ledges Pecan Pie ink and Basic Gray ink.

On with the projects!

I made three sizes of tote bags:  the largest tote (moose in window) measures 5" tall (excluding handles) x 3 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" deep; the medium totes ("If you've got it, haunt it" and wreath on window totes) measure 5" tall (excluding handles) x 3 1/2" wide x 1" deep; and the small totes ("You've put a spell on me" and Scottie Dog punch totes) measure 3 1/2" tall (excluding handles) x 3 1/2" wide x 1" wide.

For the box portion of the large tote I cut an 11" x 6 3/4" piece of Real Red cardstock (item 102482), scoring on the 11" side at 1 3/4", 5 1/4", 7", and 10 1/2" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scoring on the 6 3/4" side at 1 3/4" (bottom flaps).  For the handle I used an 11" x 1 1/2" piece of Real Red cardstock; an 11" x 1 1/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the matting panel; and an 11" x 1 1/8" piece of Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) for the top strip, which I scored eight times down the length at 1/8" intervals.  To attach the handle to the inside of the side panels I applied glue 1" from each end of the handle - with a pencil I marked the 1" line on the outside of both ends of the completed handle.

For the box portion of the medium totes I cut a 9 1/2" x 6" piece of cardstock, scoring on the 9 1/2" side at 1", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", and 9" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scoring on the 6" side at 1" (bottom flaps).  For the handles I used an 11" x 3/4" piece of cardstock, and for the wreath in window tote an additional top strip of cardstock measuring 11" x 5/8".  Again I scored at 1/8" intervals (just on the top strip for the wreath in window tote).  I used the same procedure to attach the handles as I used for the large tote.

For the box portion of the small totes I cut a 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of cardstock, scoring on the 9 1/2" side at 1", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", and 9" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scoring on the 4 1/2" side at 1" (bottom flaps).  For the handles I used a 9" x 3/4" piece of cardstock, and, for the Scottie Dog punch tote, an additional top strip of cardstock measuring 9" x 1/2", again scoring at 1/8" intervals (just on the top strip for the Scottie Dog punch tote), and using the same procedure to attach the handles as I used for the large tote.
