Everything's coming up . . . daisies!

(starting to play with the Cheerful Daisies dies)

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using the new Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies dies (item 161296), which are featured in the May 2023-April 2024 Annual Catalogue - and which are also available in a Bundle with the Cheerful Daisies stamp set (Bundle item 161297).  The large three-flower base die with leaves can be used as a single die cut or snipped apart for individual flowers and leaves.  The inside "veins" of the leaves also make good little branch sprigs.  The Dainty Delight dies (item 160674) are a great compliment to these dies as well!
Cheerful Daisies dies - 161296
Just a quick note about the basic tools and supplies I used to complete my projects this week:
  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for cutting paper and cardstock - can also be used for scoring;
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring cardstock fold lines;
  • Bone Folder (item 102300) - for burnishing scored fold lines to ensure crisp folds;
  • Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) - sharp scissors great for cutting apart the large daisy die cuts and trimming off small paper burs;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the piercer and tacky putty tips are a great help in picking up and placing small die cuts and embellishments - which I may have mentioned on occasion!😸;
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) for all die cutting and embossing; and
  • for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
I also made a few card envelopes using an envelope punch board and pieces of leftover retired Designer Series Paper - I will provide the full name and item number of the retired DSP used in the listing of the project's supplies.  Some of the retired DSP is from several years ago - lots of leftover paper waiting for just the right project!!

In two of the projects, to enhance the woodgrain created by the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406), I opened the embossing folder and dragged my Basic Gray ink pad (item 149165) across the raised designs on the side of the folder opposite the side that has the framed SU logo.  For each project I used Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983).  I placed the cardstock on the side of the folder without the ink and then carefully closed the folder and ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine - the result was that the Basic Gray ink was pushed into the recessed sections of the embossed image.  I sponged additional ink over the embossed panels - for the "The Best Is Yet To Come" decor box I used Craft Stampin' White Ink (item 147277); and for the "Thank You For Your Kindness" card I used Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) - I also splattered the embossed panel for the card project by using a paint brush to flick Craft Stampin' White Ink Refill (item 101780) diluted with a little water.  After cutting the embossed panels into 1/2" wide strips I sponged all edges of all strips with more Basic Gray ink

On with the projects!
At Dollar Tree I found these little wooden boxes/holders in several sizes with metal label holders attached with tiny screws on two sides - easy to remove and save for another project!  The box used for this project measures 4" tall x 4" wide x 1 1/2" deep.  To the back of the box I added a cardstock panel that could be used to write a message to the project's recipient.  To complete this project I used the following additional supplies:
  • Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) for the panels for the top, inside and outside sides, inside bottom, and front edges - the side, top and bottom panels were embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item 156505) and then sponged with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) - the front edge strips were also sponged with Pecan Pie ink;
  • Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983) - in addition to the woodgrain embossed strips also used for the large three-flower base die cut, the sentiment label, and the back panel (which was scored on the back side of the cardstock at 1/8" and 1/4" on all four sides);
  • Pebbled Path cardstock (item 161722) for the detail flower overlay die cuts, and the branch sprigs;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the backing label for the sentiment label - the two labels were glued with wrong sides together;
  • Pecan Pie ink to sponge the flower centers of the base die cut;
  • Basic Gray ink to sponge the edges of the base die cut, and the detail flower overlay die cuts, and the edges of the sentiment label and backing panel;
  • Lighting The Way dies (item 160496) to cut the wings, main and lower body of the insect - wings cut from Vellum 8 1/2" x 11" Cardstock (item 101856); the lower body from a leftover piece of the embossed woodgrain panel; and the top body from watercolour paper, which was coloured using Basic Gray ink;
  • Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush (item 141897) - brushed over the insect's wings, antennae, and lower body for a little sparkle;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment, from the Dainty Delight stamp set (item 161078); and
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - two large dots added to the sentiment label and four small dots added to the branch sprigs.
For this 5 15/16" x 4 3/4" side-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card base, and matting panel for the woodgrain strips (which were glued to a Pebbled Path cardstock - item 161722 - panel) - I scraped all edges of the matting panel with the blade of my craft knife;
  • watercolour paper for the base and detail overlay flower dies - coloured using Daffodil ink (item 147094), Pecan Pie ink (item 161665), and Old Olive ink (item 147090);
  • Pebbled Path cardstock for the sentiment tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563), and the matting panel for the inside Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) panel - I scraped the blade of my craft knife along all edges of the matting panel;
  • Pretty Peacock patterned paper from Earthen Elegance 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161503) for the front and inside matting panels;
  • Pecan Pie ink to stamp the fractured text image from the Queen Bee stamp set (item 160476 - an Online Exclusive) over the detailed flower overlay die cuts, and to sponge the edges of the flowers and leaves;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment, from the  Dainty Delight stamp set (item 161078) - the sentiment was stamped and then the tag was cut;
  • Basic Gray ink (item 149165) to sponge the edges of the sentiment tag; and
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - for the tag's bow - the ends secured with tiny dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Additional supplies used to complete this 5" x 4 1/4" side-fold card:
  • Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) for the card base;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the front matting panel and inside panel;
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock (item 119683) for the base flower die cut;
  • Crushed Curry cardstock (item 131199) for the detail flower overlay die cuts;
  • watercolour paper for the small daisies and centers (cut using the Dainty Delight dies - item 160674), and leaves (all cut using the Around The Bend dies - item 160649);
  • 4" x 2 3/4" rectangle of Crushed Curry/white striped paper from Fresh As A Daisy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161289) - this rectangle was cut from the sheet that includes ten different pattern "cut apart" rectangles;
  • Old Olive ink (item 147090) to colour all die cut watercolour paper foliage;
  • Daffodil Delight ink (item 147094) to colour the small die cut watercolour paper daisies; and
  • Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) to colour the centers of all die cut flowers (including the small daisy centers), and to sponge the edges of the small die cut daisies and the detail flower overlay die cuts.
Despite all the great sentiment stamps offered by Stampin' Up! I did not include any sentiments on this card since it is sometimes nice just to have a few blank notecards on hand!

The Daffodil Delight striped paper used for the envelope is from last summer's Sale-A-Bration Wonderful World 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (which was combined with the Wonderful World stamp set for Sale-A-Bration item 159918).  The 3/8" gross grain "almost Old Olive" ribbon used for the bow is from my stash.

For this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" side-fold card, which uses for the front panel a Pretty Peacock/Wild Wheat patterned rectangle from the Fresh As A Daisy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 161289) "cut apart" pattern rectangle sheet, I used the following additional supplies:
  • Pretty  Peacock cardstock (item 150880) for the card base, and detail overlay flower die cuts;
  • Wild Wheat cardstock (item 161725) for the front matting panel, inside panel, and sentiment tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563);
  • Lost Lagoon cardstock (item 133679) for the base flower/leaves die cut;
  • Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the inside matting panel;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment, from the Dainty Delight stamp set (item 161078) - sentiment was stamped prior to the tag being cut;
  • Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) - to sponge the edges of the sentiment tag; and
  • Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush (item 141897) - for a little sparkle brushed on the detailed flower overlay die cuts and flower centers, and splattered on the inside of the card (smacking the brush against my Bone Folder).
The gold on black honeycomb paper used for the envelope is from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 152311), and I used gold cord from the current Simply Elegant Trim (item 155766) for the bow.

Additional supplies used for this 4 1/4" x 5 3/4" top-fold card:
  • Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202) for the card base;
  • Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the front and inside panels, and sentiment banner - the front panel was splattered with Pecan Pie ink (item 161665) using a paintbrush and fairly liberal amounts of water;
  • Pecan Pie cardstock (item 161717) for the front panel's 5 1/2" x 2" strip - torn at both ends, and the torn scrap used on the inside panel (a leftover piece from the front panel's strip);
  • Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983) for the small branch sprigs - these are the center "veins" from the leaves;
  • watercolour paper for the flower/leaves base die cut;
  • Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), and Pecan Pie ink to colour the watercolour paper flower/leaves die cut;
  • Pecan Pie ink to stamp the sentiment, from the Grassy Grove stamp set (item 157836); and
  • second smallest banner die from the new Nested Essentials dies (item 161597) to cut the sentiment banner - the edges sponged with Pecan Pie ink.
The woodgrain paper used for the envelope is from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (item 152494).

And finally . . .
Additional supplies used to complete this 6" tall x 3" wide x 2" deep lidded gift box:
  • for the box a 10 1/2" x 8" piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock (item 150880), scored on the 10 1/2" side at 2", 5", 7", and 10" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scored on the 8" side at 2" (bottom flaps);
  • for the lid a 5 1/16" x 4 1/16" piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, scored at 1" on all four sides;
  • Pretty Peacock/Lost Lagoon shaded striped paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 161449) for the decorative paper panels for the front, back and sides of the box, and top and sides of the lid - each DSP panel cut 1/8" smaller than the corresponding cardstock panel;
  • Pretty Peacock cardstock for the two die cut branch sprigs - bottom sprig trimmed to create two smaller sprigs;
  • watercolour paper for the base and detailed overlay flower die cuts - coloured using Sweet Sorbet ink (item 159216); and
  • four of the Sweet Sorbet shaded dots from the recently retired 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186) added to the front panel.
The 1 1/2" sheer "almost Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon" shaded ribbon used for the bow on the lid was just the right length of ribbon left on a spool from my stash!
