A Few Autumn Projects!

"Every leaf speaks bliss
to me, fluttering from
the autumn tree."
Emily Bronte
Hello!  Today I am sharing a few autumnal-themed projects I worked on this week, and in an attempt to capture a little of the autumnal beauty of coloured leaves, delicate skeleton leaves, and the glowing colours of the last blooms of the season, I used the following Stampin' Up! dies:
  • Chic dies (item 158815) and Ranunculus dies (item 157976) - for the leaves!;

  • Full Basket dies (item 158679);

  • Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951) - flowering stems;

  • Harvest (item 156504) - for the branch and lavender; and
  • Summer Shadows dies (item 156618) - for the small flowers and leaves.

For each of my projects I have used my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) for die cutting; my Paper Trimmer (item 152392) for cutting and scoring paper; a bone folder (Bone Folder - item 102300) for burnishing all score lines, and, for the main adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).  For the watercoloured die-cuts I used watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) for cutting, and Stampin' Up! inks for colouring.  Another very useful tool is a stamping platform (Stamparatus - item 146276).
In addition to the Full Basket, Ranunculs, Harvest, and Summer Shadows dies I used the following additional supplies for this 8 1/4" x 4 1/8" top-fold slimline card:
  • Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) for the card base, a scrap piece for the backing of the basket, and for the basket "soil" (which was cut using the Grove dies - item 157844);
  • Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the front panel, and sentiment tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563);
  • Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) for the tag hole re-enforcer (also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies);
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676) to cut the leaves using the Summer Shadows dies;
  • large splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set (item 151599) and Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to stamp around the edges of the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock front panel;
  • Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096), Soft Suede ink, Basic Gray ink (item 149165), and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to colour the basket and handle;
  • Soft Suede ink and Basic Gray ink to colour the branch (cut using the Harvest dies);
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093) and Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) to colour the small flowers (cut using the Summer Shadows dies) - these flowers are a sort of mash-up of sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and marigolds!;
  • Soft Suede ink to colour the flower centers, which were cut using the Poppy Moments dies (item 151594);
  • Mango Melody ink, Pumpkin Pie ink, Real Red ink (item 147084), and Soft Suede ink to colour the three large leaves (cut using the Ranunculus dies);
  • Peaceful Moments stamp set (item 151595) for the sentiment, which was stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406);
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082)  to add splatters to the sentiment tag and basket by flicking the marker's brush tip against the marker lid;
  • Crumb Cake baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) used on the tag;
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) - I added one behind the cluster including the front flower; and
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - six added to the card, including a small dot for each flower center.

In addition to the Full Basket, Summer Shadows, and Harvest dies, I used the following supplies for this 4" tall x 3" wide x 2" deep treat/gift box:
  • a 10 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock (item 119685) for the  box base - scored on the 10 1/2" side at 1/2" (glue tab), 2 1/2", 5 1/2", and 7 1/2", and scored on the 8 1/2" side at 2" (bottom flaps), 6", and 8" (the 1/2" will be the lid fold-over).  Positioning the cardstock with the 1/2" side glue tab on the left side I trimmed the first three 2 1/2" top sections down to 1" - I glued the center trimmed flap to the inside of the front panel.  After adhering the decorative paper panel to the front of the box I used a 1" circle punch to cut the thumb notch,  I used a corner-rounder punch on the ends of the lid fold-over;
  • Cherry Cobbler patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Regals (item 159256) for the decorative paper panels for the front, back, sides, and top of the box;
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676) for the leaves (cut using the Summer Shadows dies) - to add a little dimension to the leaves I pinched them slightly between my fingers;
  • Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) for the basket backing piece, and for the basket "soil" (cut using the Grove dies - item 157844);
  • Cherry Cobbler watercolour pencil (Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 2 - item 149014) to colour the basket napkin;
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115), Basic Gray ink (item 149165), and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to colour the basket and handle;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093) and Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) to colour the three flowers (cut using the Summer Shadows dies);
  • Soft Suede ink to colour the flower centers (which were cut using the Poppy Moments dies - item 151594);
  • Soft Suede ink and Basic Gray ink to colour the branch (cut using the Harvest dies);
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) - I added one behind each of the two higher flowers;
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - I added six to the box front; and
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) for the bow glued to the basket handle.
Linen Thread and Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots are great autumnal embellishments!

Variations on a theme . . .
For each of these two cards I used the Chic dies to cut the leaves; the Full Basket dies to cut the little sprigs; the Fabulous Frames dies (item 159163) to cut the large frames from watercolour paper; and, for behind the frames, a piece from the Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs (item 157764).  I used Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111) to colour the flower stems, sprigs, and solid leaf shape; Rich  Razzleberry ink (item 147091) to colour the flowers; and Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to colour the skeleton leaf shapes,

For the first card, a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" side-fold card, I used Gray Granite cardstock (item 146983) for the card base; the "dotty" stamp from the Forever Fern stamp set (item 152559) and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) to stamp around the edges of the card front; Basic Gray ink to sponge around the edges of the card front; Basic Gray ink to colour the frame; Harvest dies to cut the "lavender"; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment - from the Quiet Meadow stamp set (item 155082) - on Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953); the Meadow dies (item 155852) to cut the sentiment tag; and Linen Thread (item 104199) to tie the bow through the gray button from my stash.

For the second card, a 5 3/8" x 4 1/4" top-fold card, I used Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card base; Rich Razzleberry cardstock (item 115316) for the front matting panel and inside sentiment panel; Mememto Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to colour the frame - lightly spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185) and patted with paper towel to remove some colour; Vintage Bottle Punch (item 158689) to cut the bottle from watercolour paper; Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to colour the bottle - again lightly spritzing with water and patting with paper towel to remove some of the colour; Ranunculus Romance stamp set (item 157968) and Soft Suede ink to stamp the bottle label - the edges lightly sponged with Basic Gray ink; Honeybee Blooms dies to cut the flower stem; Linen Thread (item 104199) for the bow glued to the bottle neck; and Cheerful Basket stamp set (item 158674) for the inside sentiment, stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406).

I thought I could use these 3" tall x 2" wide x 1" deep treat holders, which hold six individually wrapped creamy caramel candies - the perfect autumnal treat! - as favours for the Thanksgiving dinner table.  For each treat holder I used a 6 1/2" x 4" piece of cardstock (Basic Black cardstock - item 121045, and Cajun Craze cardstock - item 119684), scored on the 6 1/2" side at 1", 3", 4" and 6" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); and scored at 1" on the 4" side.  The circle frame handles were cut using two circle dies from the Layering Circles dies (item 151770).  To prevent any slipping of the dies while die cutting I held the two circle dies together with a few strips of washi tape.  I used the Rustic Harvest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159633) for the decorative paper panels - the paper I used for the two treat holders are actually the reverse sides of the same sheet of DSP.  On the handles of the Basic Black treat holder I tied a piece of the 1 1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon (item 153550) - through the knot of which I tied a bow using silver cord from Simply Elegant Trim (item 155766).  To the front of the Cajun Craze treat holder I added a solid and skeleton leaf, cut using the Chic dies, and coloured using Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111) and Soft Suede ink (item 147115) respectively; a sprig, cut using the Full Basket dies, and coloured using Mossy Meadow ink; a label stamped using the Ranunculus Romance stamp set (item 157968) and Soft Suede ink, with the edges sponged lightly with Basic Gray ink (item 149165); and four of the smallest of the Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082).  To the handle I tied a double bow using Crumb Cake baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (item 155475).

And finally . . . two more leaf cards!

For this 5 1/2" x 4" top-fold card I used the following supplies:
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the card base;
  • Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the leaf backing square (cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183), and the inside panel;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the matting panels;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093), Old Olive ink (item 147090), Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086), Soft Suede ink (item 147115), and Real Red ink (item 147084) to colour the leaves (which were cut using the Chic dies);
  • fractured text stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set (item 155082) and Soft Suede ink to stamp over the coloured leaves;
  • Peaceful Moments stamp set (item 151595) and Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiment;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add splatters to the card front by flicking the marker's brush tip against the marker lid;
  • Crumb Cake baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) for the bow added to the leaves;
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - three of the Very Vanilla dots added to the front of the card; and
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the matted leaf panel to the front of the card.
For this 3" x 3" gift card I used the following supplies:
  • Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock (item 144237) for the card base; and matting square (cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183);
  • Distressed Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (item 159237) for the skeleton leaf shapes (cut using the Chic dies), and the matting panel - this paper is very nice to work with!;
  • Very Vanilla baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) for the bow; and
  • Opal Rounds (item 154289) - three added to the card front for a little more sparke!
Using an envelope punch board I made an envelope from a piece of the Kraft 6" x 6" Paper (item 156325), around which I tied a bow using 3/4" cream ribbon from my Dollar Tree stash!  I like the contrast between the Very Vanilla cardstock, Distressed Gold paper and the Kraft paper.
