A Few Watercolour Projects

(celebrating World Watercolour Month!)

Hello!  Since July is World Watercolour Month today I am sharing a few watercolouring projects I worked on this week featuring some new products from the Stampin' Up! July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue, and a few of the  Sale-A-Bration products.  Sale-A-Bration started on July 1, 2022, and runs through to August 31, 2022, and is a great opportunity to earn some fun and exciting products while stocking up on your crafting supplies!
On to the projects!
All Bundled Up Stamp Set (item 159824)
The All Bundled Up stamp set (item 159824) is one of the new stamp sets featured in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue, and although it may be a little early to be thinking Christmas and being "bundled up" these little guys were just too hard to resist!
For this 5" x 4 1/2" card I stamped the full moose on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and watercoloured the image using the following inks:
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115) - body and antlers;
  • Real Red ink (item 147084) and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) - scarf; and
  • Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096) - tuque.
The "You're the coolest" sentiment and snowflakes were stamped on watercolour paper using Bermuda Bay ink, and the banner was cut using the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183).  The interior sentiment, racoon and moose were also stamped on watercolour paper using Stazon Jet Black Ink.

I also used the following supplies for the card:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) - card base, and embossed front panel (embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder - item 156505 -  I distressed the edges of the embossed panel by scraping the  blade of my craft knife along the edges);
  • Bermuda Bay cardstock (item 131197) - for the torn embossed matting panel (embossed using the pine bough embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders - item 155433);
  • Real Red ink applied to a clear block which was lightly spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185) and then "stamped" on a watercolour paper panel - more water was dribbled on the panel to create the larger droplets;
  • Bermuda Bay patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) - for the circle that was cut using the Stylish Shapes dies;
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) - to attach the moose (which was "fussy cut" using my Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579),  and the right end of the sentiment banner; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
For the co-ordinating envelope, made using an envelope punch board, I used a piece of the new Perfectly Penciled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159244).  For the bow around the envelope I used ribbon that I found at Dollarama - I always try to remember to take my cardstock sampler with me when I go shopping!

Nature's Harvest Stamp Set (item 156495) and
Cup of Tea Bundle (item 158667 - includes the Cup of Tea Stamp Set [item 158661] and the Teacup Dies [item 160186])
For this 5 1/2" x 3 7/8" card I stamped the coneflower image from the Nature's Harvest stamp set (item 156495) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) on a watercolour paper panel that I had "stamped" using a clear block inked with Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095) and spritzed with water.  The "enjoy" sentiment, from the Cup of Tea stamp set (item 158661), was stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink on a small piece of a watercolour paper panel that I had "stamped" using a clear block inked with Real Red ink (item 147084) and spritzed with water.  The tag was cut using the larger tea bag die from the Teacup dies (item 160186).  The little heart used on the inside panel was also cut from the Real Red ink watercolour paper panel using the heart dies included with the Sale-A-Bration Hippo dies (item 159928).  For this card I also used the following supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) - card base;
  • Perfectly Penciled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159244) - for the matting panels, and the strips on the inside panel;
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) - to attach the "enjoy" tag;
  • Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485) - wrapped around the image panel before it was glued to the matting panels.  I wrapped a strip of the ribbon around the panel and secured it to the back using scotch tape - with another piece of ribbon I tied the bow around the secured strip; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).

Hippest Hippos Stamp Set (item 159921) and Hippo Dies (item 159928
(Sale-A-Bration products)
The Hippest Hippos stamp set (item 159921) and the Hippo dies (item 159928) are both Sale-A-Bration products that are individually available for free with a minimum $60.00 CDN order (before taxes and shipping) -  both the stamp set and co-ordinating dies are available for a minimum $120.00 CDN order (before taxes and shipping).  Based on social media postings these hippos are already extremely popular!
For this trio of tags I used the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) to cut the tags - from Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202); a watercolour paper panel that I had "stamped" with a clear block inked with Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095) and spritzed with water; and Bermuda Bay cardstock (item 131197). On each tag I also added ink applied by sponging ink through the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks (item 159178 - the package includes five masks) - for both the Smoky Slate cardstock and Bermuda Bay cardstock tags I used the striped (plaid) mask - for the Smoky Slate cardstock tag I sponged Basic Gray ink (item 149165); for the Bermuda Bay cardstock tag I sponged Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096); and for the ballerina tag I used the two tile masks, sponging Granny Apple Green ink.
Each hippo was stamped on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and watercoloured using Basic Gray ink (item 149165) for the bodies, and Calypso Coral ink (item 147101) for the snouts, bellies, and hoof nails.

And finally . . .
For this 3" tall (excluding handles) x 2" wide x 1/2" deep gift bag/treat holder, which holds a pair of "tutu" charm earrings, I used a 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock (item 115320) scored as follows:
  • on the 5 1/2" side at 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", and 5" (I trimmed off about 1/16" on the right edge glue tab to ensure proper alignment of the box when assembled); and
  • on the 3 1/2" side at 1/2".
For the handles I cut two circle frames from Melon Mambo cardstock using two of the Layering Circles dies (item 151770) - largest circle just under 2" diameter, inner circle approximately 1 3/8" diameter.  I glued the circle frame handles to the inside of the box at approximately half-way on the frames.
