Time For Tea ?

(a few projects featuring the Cup of Tea Bundle)

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Cup of Tea Bundle (item 158667), which includes the Cup of Tea stamp set (item 158661), and the Teacup dies (item 160186).  Of course the stamp set and the dies can be purchased individually but when purchased together there is the 10% bundle saving!  The stamps and dies are a lot of fun to play with for sure!

I have also used a few retiring items from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalogue, and at the end of this blog post I will list those items.  During the Last Chance Promotion, which runs until June 30, 2022, retiring items from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalogue are available while supplies last with some of the items at a substantial discount!

All die cut pieces for my projects were, as usual, cut using my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653).

Tea Bag Dispenser Boxes
(with lids)
When I found the tea bag dispenser box instructions provided by Heidi Baks (runningwscissorsstamper.blogspot.com) in a 2013 Splitcoaststampers video tutorial (https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/teabagdispenserbox) I thought these tea bag dispenser boxes would make great little gifts (maybe for a teacher - it's that time of year again!) or for shower favours etc. - for a few of the dispenser boxes I also stamped, embossed, and cut "just for you" sentiment tags, which would be tied to the clear bags in which I would present the dispenser boxes.  The tags were cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563), and the sentiment stamped and embossed using the Ranunculus Romance stamp set (item 157968), VersaMark Ink (item 102283), and white embossing powder (Stampin' Emboss Powders - Basics - item 155554).  I used the measurements Heidi Baks provided for the construction of the boxes:  a 6" x 12" piece of cardstock scored at 1" on the 6" side and at 3 1/16", 5 3/4", 8 13/16", and 11 1/2" on the 12" side.  For the box lid I slightly amended the dimensions to 4 5/16" x 4 11/16" - and scored at 3/4" on all four sides.  For my first box I followed the instructions she provided for cutting the tea bag dispenser slot at the bottom of the second panel of the box and adding a base - I cut some medium-weight cardboard, inked the edges and covered both sides with cardstock.

For cutting and scoring on my boxes and lids I used my Paper Trimmer (item 152392).
For my first tea bag dispenser I used Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the lid, teacup, the covering for the base, the sentiment tag, and for the "handle". For the box I used the Basic Black 12" x 12" cardstock (item 124267) that is featured in the upcoming July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue.  [Items from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue will be available as of July 1, 2022!]  I cut the "handle" using the large label die included with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 157641), and scored 1/2" from each end.  I slightly curved the handle using a bone folder (Bone Folder - item 102300).  For the decorative paper panels for the front, back and sides of the box, and for the sides of the lid, I used the Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 158659), and for the panel for the top of the lid I used Crushed Curry DSP from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Regals - item 159256.  Additional supplies that I used:
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) - for all stamped images and the lemon detail die cut;
  • Crushed Curry cardstock (item 131199) - for the lemon;
  • Granny Apple Green Ink (item 147095) - for the stamped leaves (second generation stamping);
  • Sweet Sorbet Ink (item 159216) - for the stamped flowers;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) - to stamp the tea bag tag and sentiment, and to ink the edges of the cardboard base;
  • Garden Green cardstock (item 102584) - for the grass and one small leaf sprig;
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990) - for the two larger leaf sprigs;
  • Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951) - to cut the Garden Green cardstock grass;
  • Grove dies (item 157844) - to cut the Garden Green cardstock and Granny Apple Green cardstock leaf sprigs;
  • Heart & Home Doilies (item 157956) - white side, trimmed, and adhered to box front above the tea bag dispenser slot;
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - small Basic Black dots used for the flower centers;
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - one large dot used on each end of the "handle";
  • Brushed Brass Butterflies (item 158136) - one large and one small used to embellish the front of the box;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - used for the tea bag string; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
For the second box I omitted the oversized base (using just cardstock rectangles for the bottom - one outside and one inside) and cut a frame for the dispenser slot using the Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820).  I also used the following supplies:
  • Garden Green 12" x 12" cardstock (12" x 12" Cardstock Assortments - Regals - item 147002) - for the box, dispenser slot frame, and lid;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) - for the sentiment banner;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) - to stamp the sentiment;
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) - to cut the Basic White cardstock sentiment banner;
  • Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 158659) - for the decorative paper panels for the front of the box and top of the lid, and for the bottom strips on the sides and back of the box;;
  • Heart & Home 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 157928) - for the decorative paper panels for both sides of the box;
  • Garden Green DSP from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Regals (item 159256) - for the decorative paper panel for the back of the box;
  • white baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) - tied around the box just above the dispenser slot frame; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).

For my third box, rather than cutting the dispenser slot at the bottom of the second panel as per the original instructions, I cut the opening using the Stitched Rectangle dies (item 151820), leaving a very small border on each side of the slot.  I also used the following supplies:
  • Rich Razzleberry 12" x 12" cardstock (12" x 12" Cardstock Assortments - Regals - item 147002) - for the box, lid, and "just for you" sentiment tag;
  • Flowering Fields 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 157670) - for the decorative paper panels for the front, back, and sides of the box, and the top of the lid;
  • Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 158659) - to cut out the two teapots used on the front of the box;
  • Rich Razzleberry Ink (item 147091) - to stamp the teacup, flowers, and "it's time for tea" sentiment;
  • Evening Evergreen Ink (item 155576) - to stamp the leaves and the tea bag outline;
  • Evening Evergreen cardstock (item 155574) and Soft Succulent cardstock (item 155776) - for the small leaf sprigs;
  • Grove dies (item 157844) - to cut the small leaf sprigs;
  • Evening Evergreen baker's twine (Fan Baker's Twine - item 158143) - to tie the bow around the lid, and for the tea bag string; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).

And finally . . .

For my last project, I have a lidded box to hold a small teacup, as well as a slightly shorter tea bag dispenser box (for a 4" tall dispenser box I used a piece of cardstock 5" x 12" - but used the same scoring).  For this dispenser box I also used the Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820) to cut the dispenser slot.  For the dispenser box and lid I used So Saffron cardstock (12" x 12" Cardstock Assortments - Subtles - item 147004).  For the box and lid top I used So Saffron cardstock panels embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item 156505), which I matted with Basic White cardstock (item 159276) panels.  For my teacup box (which measures 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" tall) I also used So Saffron cardstock, cut and scored as follows:
  • for the box base - 10 1/4" x 10 1/4", scored at 2 3/4" on all four sides; and
  • for the lid - 6 14/16" x 6 14/16" - scored at 1" on all four sides.
For the decorative paper panels for the box and lid I used the So Saffron DSP from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Subtles (item 159255), matted with Basic White cardstock panels.

For both the teacup box and the tea bag dispenser box I also used the following supplies:
  • Mint Macaron cardstock (item 138337) - for the foliage and sentiment tag;
  • So Saffron cardstock - to cut the teacup bases, small flowers; butterflies, and the teacup's sentiment tag;
  • Basic White cardstock - to cut the teacup overlays, and the butterfly used on the lid of the tea bag dispenser box;
  • Brilliant Wings dies (item 155523) - to cut all butterflies;
  • Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush (item 141897) - to add a little sparkle to the So Saffron cardstock butterflies;
  • stitched heart die included with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 157641) - to cut the So Saffron DSP heart used on the lid of the teacup box;
  • small flower dies included with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 157641) - to cut the So Saffron cardstock flowers;
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - white dots used for the flower centers;
  • Grove dies (item 157844) - to cut the Mint Macaron cardstock small leaf sprigs;
  • Forever Flourishing dies (item 152714) - to cut the additional Mint Macaron cardstock foliage;

  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) - to attach the teacup to the lid of the teacup box; and
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).
