Hello!  For today only (Wednesday December 8, 2021) Stampin' Up! is offering Free Shipping on orders of $65.00 (CAD) or more!  I hope you will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on your papercrafting supplies and to pick up those retiring items from the July - December 2021 Mini Catalogue while supplies last!

Today I am sharing a few easy lip balm holders that would be great for stocking stuffers!

For the book style I adapted the instructions provided by Lyric Lover Crafts in her 2019 You Tube video "Craft Fair Idea #8:  Festive Lip Balm Favours" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ3mWHseHZs).
However, I did slightly adjust my dimensions to provide a wider one-inch spine in order to accommodate the slightly thicker Nivea lip balm I was using:  I cut the cardstock to measure 5 3/4" by 3 1/2", and on the 5 3/4" side I scored at 2 3/8" and 3 3/8".  The strip used to hold the lip balm in the spine was cut at 1" wide, and slightly curled using my bone folder, and it was attached to the base of the holder prior to adding any of the designer series paper panels.

For my two holders I used the following additional supplies:
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676);
  • Heartwarming Hugs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 153492);
  • Real Red cardstock (item 102482) - for the scalloped circle;
  • Perfectly Plaid stamp set for the "North Pole Delivery" sentiment (item 158335), which was stamped using Old Olive ink (item 100702);
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) - for the sentiment;
  • Layering Circles dies (item 151770) - to cut the Mossy Meadow and Real Red scalloped circles and the Basic White sentiment circle;
  • Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder (item 152718) - used to emboss the sentiment circle;
  • Mossy Meadow 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon (item 153542 and currently available on the Clearance Rack);
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045);
  • Black & WHite 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485); and
  • the white snowflake paper is from the Peaceful Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (August - September 2021 Sale-A-Bration product).
I also made three lip balm holders incorporating the plastic "bubble" of the original packaging:

Using a little water, and your fingernail to scrape, the paper and glue can  easily be removed from around the "bubble" - I just wanted to make sure that none of it would show!

For each of the two Lypsyl holders I cut two tags using the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563):  one from cardstock for the back, and one from designer series paper (DSP).  In the tags cut from DSP I cut an opening to accommodate the "bubble" using the Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820). Around the bubble I glued a narrow frame also cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies. The two tags, with the Lypsyl in the bubble, were glued together with the "wrong" sides facing together so that the finished edge of the backing tag would be on the outside.  Before adhering the tags together I stamped "to" and "from" on the back of the Mossy Meadow cardstock tag in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (item 132708).  The "to" and "from" are from the Frightfully Cute stamp set (item 156487).

For the double pack of Nivea I used the same process, using just the Stitched Rectangle dies (for the base, opening, and frame).  I also stamped the "to" and "from" and "North Pole Delivery" on the back of the Real Red cardstock rectangle in Black ink.  The "North Pole Delivery" is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set (item 158335).  The bow (Basic White cardstock) was cut using the Pierced Blooms dies (item 154312).  To the center of the bow I added a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot (item 156506).

The designer series paper I used for the holders are from both the Heartwarming Hugs DSP and the Peaceful Prints DSP.  For the Lypsyl holders I also used the Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe ribbon (and white baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475), and the Black & White Gingham Ribbon.

I hope you have as much fun making your lip balm holders as I did!
