Easel Calendar and Sticky Note Holder

(with co-ordinating gift box)

Hello!  Today I am sharing an easel calendar and sticky note holder with a co-ordinating gift box, which may be an idea if you need a small (but useful!) hostess thank-you gift (or a last minute stocking stuffer)!

For the calendar/sticky note holder I used two pieces of Misty Moonlight cardstock (item 153081) with the following measurements:
  • 4 1/4" x 11" - scored on the 11" side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"; and
  • 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
I used Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the mats for the decorative paper panels and for the "base" for the 3" x 3" sticky note pad.  I used Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (item 155841) for the decorative paper panels.  The "backing" for the calendar pad was cut from Misty Moonlight cardstock using the Stitched So Sweetly dies (item 151690).  The skeleton leaf and branch embellishments were cut using the Intricate Leaves dies (item 153566):  the leaf from Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229), and the branch from Misty Moonlight.  I added a Linen Thread (item 104199) bow.  The Intricate Leaves dies, from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue are a retiring item and as a "Last Chance" item will be available, while supplies last, only until January 3, 2022.

I purchased a ten-pack of the Taylored Expressions 2022 Mini Tear-Off Calendars at my local scrapbooking store.  The sticky note pad was purchased from Dollarama.
Since the easel calendar and sticky note holder will fold relatively flat I thought it might be a good idea to make a co-ordinating gift box - to "ramp up" the presentation!  I also wrapped the calendar/sticky note holder in some pretty tissue paper before placing it in the box (it's all about the presentation!)
For the box, which measures 4 9/16" x 5 13/16" x 1" deep, I used two pieces of cardstock:
  • Misty Moonlight cardstock for the lid - 7 13/16" x 6 9/16" - scored at 1" on all four sides; and
  • Basic White Thick cardstock for the bottom - 7 3/4" x 6 1/2" - also scored at 1" on all four sides.
For the decorative paper panels for the top and sides of the lid of the box I used Beauty of the Earth DSP - the reverse side of the paper used for the panels for the easel calendar/sticky note pad holder. After gluing the decorative panels onto the lid I cut the thumb notches on two sides using a 1" circle punch.
The "Thank You" sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set (item 151595) was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink (item 153118) on Basic White Thick cardstock, which was then cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563).  The leaves were cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676) using the Pierced Blooms dies (item 154312).  Around the box I tied a bow using Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim (item 154298 - which is currently available on the Clearance Rack).

These easel calendars and sticky note holders are a lot of fun to make (and so are the co-ordinating gift boxes!) and I have made quite a few so far!
