All Dressed Up Treat/Favour Bags!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few treat/favour bags I made using the Stampin' Up! All Dressed Up dies (item 151665) and the co-ordinating Dressed To Impress stamp set (item 158321).   The bags are approximately 4" high, 1" deep (measured across the bottom of the bag), and at maximum, approximately 4 3/4" wide. Several small bottles of nail polish from Dollarama that I had on hand for another art project provided the inspiration.  At the risk of perpetuating a stereotype, I thought maybe these treat/favour bags would be cute for a little girl's birthday party!

For each bag I cut an additional front panel, either from a co-ordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP), or, as I did for the Polished Pink bag, from cardstock, which I then embossed.

I really enjoy using the All Dressed Up die set (I use it a lot!!) and it is quite versatile since you can make different styles of tote bag/purse or a backpack depending on placement of the straps and whether the side score lines are folded outwards or inwards.

The die set also includes the co-ordinating dies for cutting the perfume bottle, lipstick, and flowers from the stamp set:

I used Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the straps for all the bags to reflect the black cap of the nail polish bottles, and gold accents to reflect the slight gold shimmer of the nail polish [and to make the bags look fancier!]:  buttons and backpack buckles cut from Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock (item 153524); gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots (item 156506) for the Poppy Parade bag; and gold cord bows (Simply Elegant Trim pack - item 155766).  I also added several Opal Rounds (item 154289) to the Mango Melody bag for a little more shimmer.

Additional supplies I used for the bags:

  • cardstock:  Poppy Parade (item 119793); Polished Pink (item 155710); Calypso Coral (item 122925); Granny Apple Green (item 146990); and Mango Melody (item 146989);
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP):  6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment (Brights - item 155228) for Poppy Parade and Mango Melody bags.  The DSP used on the Granny Apple Green bag was from a previous year's Brights collection that I had on hand, having used up all my current Granny Apple Green DSP on Halloween projects!; and You're A Peach DSP (item 155686) for the Calypso Coral backpack;
  • Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder (item 150646) - used for the Polished Pink bag;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink (item 132708) - used to stamp all images on watercolour paper;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093) - used to "watercolour" the flowers on the Mango Melody bag;
  • Watercolour Pencils - Basic Black, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Real Red from Assortment 1 (item 141709); and Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green from Assortment 2 (item 149014).
To secure the over the bag flaps on the Polished Pink and Mango Melody totes and on the Calypso Coral backpack, I used 10 mm (0.39 inch) Hook & Loop Sticky Dots I picked up at Dollar Tree.  Although the dots are quite sticky I did add a little drop of liquid glue to the back of each of the dots to ensure that the flaps would stay in place (at least until the bags are opened!).
