Sunny Splash Swimsuit Edition!
Hello!  Today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week using the Stampin' Up! Sunny Splash stamp set (item 158784) from the May 2022-April 2023 Annual Catalogue.  This is the closest I have come to a swimsuit in quite a few years!
Sunny Splash stamp set - 158784
Just a brief summary of the standard tools and supplies I used to complete my projects:
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing - this machine includes 1 Base Plate and 1 Die Plate, 2 Cutting Plates, and 1 Specialty Plate (for embossing with the 3D Embossing Folder the Base Plate and Specialty Plate are used together);
  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for cutting all cardstock and paper (can also be used for scoring);
  • stylus and scoreboard (Simply Scored Scoring Tool - item 122334) - for scoring cardstock and paper;
  • Bone Folder (item 102300) - for burnishing score lines to ensure crisp folds - also used to provide a slight curl to the handles on the Beach Tote Gift Bag;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the paper piercer and tacky putty tips are a great help in picking up and placing small embellishments and die cuts;
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755) for the main adhesive; and
  • for heat embossing the "Hello Sunshine" sentiment, an Embossing Buddy (included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit - item 159971) to pounce on and rub over the cardstock in preparation for embossing; VersaMark Ink (item 102283) and white embossing powder (Stampin' Emboss Powders - Basics - item 155554) to stamp and emboss the sentiment; and, to activate (melt) the embossing powder, a heat gun (Heat Tool - item 129053).
For the Beach Tote Gift Bag I also used four gold eyelets and two small Basic Grey magnetic discs purchased at my local scrapbooking shop, a hole punch, and an eyelet setter.

On with the projects!
Beach Tote Gift Bag
For the construction of the bag portion, which measures 4" tall x 4" wide (excluding the extension of the side panels) x 1 3/4" deep, I followed the assembly instructions I used for the smaller of the two paper quilt block tote bags from my February 10, 2023, blog post (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2023/02/paper-quilt-block-tote-bags-and-card.html) - two 6 1/4" x 5 3/4" pieces of cardstock, each scored on the 6 1/4" side at 4" and 5 3/4" (1/2" tab is the glue tab); scored on the 5 3/4" side at 1 3/4" (bottom flaps); and scored again on the 6 1/4" side at 4 7/8" down to 3". (I laid a ruler across the scoreboard at the 3" mark).  To form the triangle section at the bottom of each side panel I used a stylus and ruler to score from the 3" end point of the vertical score line down and out to each corner.

To ensure proper alignment of the eyelet holes when attaching the handles, I first punched the holes in the straps, then held the straps against the front and back of the bag (with the straps lined up approximately 1/4" from each side of the bag), traced the holes onto the front and back of the bag with a pencil, then punched the holes in the bag.  When gluing on the handles I matched up the holes.  Eyelets were set once the glue securing the handles to the bag was dry.

I used the following additional supplies to complete the tote bag:
  • Starry Sky cardstock (item 159263) for the bag portion, and for the large die cut circle that is the base of the closure (circle cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183);
Stylish Shapes dies - 159183
  • Orchid Oasis cardstock (item 159267) for the smaller die cut circle (also cut using the Stylish Shapes dies), and three die cut flowers;
  • Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the handles - 2 strips cut 3/8" x 11" and scored twice along the length at 1/8" intervals (eyelet holes punched approximately 3/4" from each end);
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the swimsuit tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563), and center for large flower;
Tailor Made Tags dies - 155563
  • Parakeet Party cardstock (item 159259) and Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990) for the die cut foliage;
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock (item 119683) for the large die cut flower;
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the small torn die cut tag tied to the neck of the bottle - tag cut using the small tag die included with the Meadow dies (item 155852);
Meadow dies - 155852
  • Real Red cardstock (item 102482) for the die cut heart on the bottle's tag;
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115) - to sponge edges of Crumb Cake cardstock tag;
  • Real Red ink (item 147084) to stamp the swimsuit image on Basic White cardstock (the image was stamped and then the tag was die cut);
  • Starry Sky ink (item 159212) to stamp the "splash" portion of the sentiment on Orchid Oasis cardstock - the sentiment was stamped and then the circle was die cut.  Before inking the sentiment stamp I used a post-it note to cover the "Make a" portion of the stamp, removing it after inking and before stamping;
  • Around The Bend dies (item 160649) to cut the foliage, flowers, Basic White cardstock flower center, and Real Red cardstock heart;
Around The Bend dies - 160649
  • Orchid Oasis shaded dots from 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186) - one added to the flower center and two to the foliage stems; and
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) to tie the tag around the neck of the bottle.
For the die cut circle flap closure I scored each circle in half, then glued the back half of the Starry Sky cardstock circle to the center of the top of the back of the bag, then glued the stamped and scored sentiment Orchid Oasis cardstock circle to the center of the Starry Sky cardstock circle.  The swimsuit tag was glued to the front center of the bag and the magnetic discs were glued to the top of the tag and underside of the Starry Sky cardstock circle.

The little corked bottle is from a package of four glass bottle charms I picked up at Dollar Tree, and is filled with a sand-like decorative gravel I also found at Dollar Tree! Before attaching the bottle to the bag handle using a small ball chain from my stash, I secured the cork to the bottle using a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  (The glass bottle charms come with the small screw-eye in the cork).
Hello Sunshine Card
For this 5" x 4" side-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Bermuda Bay cardstock (item 131197) for the card base, embossed panel, and three die cut leafy stems;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for matting panel, die cut flowers, and inside panel;
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990) for die cut leaves, and inside matting panel;
  • Mango Melody cardstock (item 146989) for sentiment circle (cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183), and flower centers.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment on the die cut circle;
  • Fern 3D Embossing Folder (item 158804) to emboss 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" Bermuda Bay cardstock panel;
  • Around The Bend dies (item 160649) to cut all foliage, flowers, and flower centers;
  • scraps of Mango Melody and Bermuda Bay patterned paper from 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) for the two torn strips on the bottom edge of the inside panel;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) for the bow (ends secured with little dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue); and
  • four white dots from Enamel Dot Essentials (item 160751) - two added to flower centers and two added to bottom right corner of embossed panel.
With an envelope punch board I made a co-ordinating envelope using a portion of a sheet of the Hues of Happiness 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 158822), and around the envelope I tied a bow using some "almost Mango Melody" 1/4" gross grain ribbon from my stash.
Wishing You Were Here Framed Scrapbook Page
I used a 5" x 7" x 1 3/8" deep frame (outside frame measurements are 6" x 8") from Dollarama to frame this scrapbook page featuring a family photograph from a day at a favourite beach - happy memories for sure!  Although obscured by the frame, I used a just shy of 5 1/4" x just shy of 7 1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for the base of the page, over which I glued two pieces cut from a sheet of the Abigail Rose 12" x 12"  Designer Series Paper (item 159037), all edges of which I sponged with Soft Suede ink (item 147115) - the scrap of ledger patterned paper behind the photograph is also from the Abigail Rose DSP (the edges also sponged with Soft Suede ink).  I allowed a narrow center space between the background DSP floral pieces, as well as a narrow border around the edges (which is of course hidden by the frame!).

To complete the project I used the following additional supplies:
  • Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) for the main panel, solid leaf stems, and the hole re-enforcers on the swimsuit tags;
  • watercolour paper for the photo frame (square and circle cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183), sentiment circle (also cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - after the sentiment was stamped), and the swimsuit tags.  The watercolour paper from which the photo frame was cut was coloured using a watercolour wash of Pool Party ink (item 147107);
  • Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) and Crumb Cake cardstock for the tree ring, which was cut using the dies included with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 159888) - both cardstock pieces were also embossed using the folder and sponged with Soft Suede ink;

  • Pool Party cardstock (item 122924) for the die cut flower;

  • Around The Bend dies (item 160649) to cut the Shaded Spruce cardstock and Coastal Cabana cardstock foliage, the Pool Party cardstock flower, and the Crumb Cake cardstock flower center;
  • Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) to cut the swimsuit tags and hole re-enforcers (tags cut after images stamped);
  • Pool Party ink (item 147107) and Bermuda Bay ink (item 147096) to stamp the striped and polka dot swimsuits respectively;
  • Soft Suede ink to stamp the "Wishing you were here" sentiment, and the distressed text image from the Queen Bee stamp set (item 160476) on the swimsuit tags.  For the "Wishing you were here" sentiment I rubbed a paper towel over the stamped sentiment before the ink was fully dry to smear the ink and help create a vintage look.  I also sponged the swimsuit tags with Soft Suede ink to help with the vintage look; and
Queen Bee stamp set - 160476
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - looped through the top of each tag.  I secured the ends with a little dab of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Vintage Style Matchbook Notepad
Closed this little matchbook measures 4 1/2" x 3 1/2", and holds four 8 1/4" x 2 15/16" sheets of coffee dyed copy paper that are folded in half for fifteen 4 1/8" x 2 16/16" pages (the last page is glued to a piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the copy paper page size, which is glued to the back cover of the matchbook).  The pages are stitched together along the top edge using embroidery thread and the 3-hole pamphlet stitch (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-few-projects-using-ranunculus-romance.html).  For this project I used the following additional supplies:
  • a 3 1/2" x 9 3/4" piece of Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) for the matchbook cover, scored on the 9 3/4" side at 3/4" (the fold up that forms the matchbook closure), 5 1/4" and 5 3/8" (I have allowed for a 1/8" spine) - I did have to trim a little off the bottom of the front section for a better tuck-in to the matchbook fold up closure;
  • watercolour paper for the swimsuit tag (cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563);
  • Soft Suede cardstock for the tag hole re-enforcer (also cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies);

  • Mint Macaron patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Subtles (item 159255) for the second matting panel for the front cover;
  • two pieces of Blushing Bride/white checked pattern paper cut from a sheet of Awash In Beauty 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 158973) for front cover and inside of front cover;
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) for cross hatch die cut (cut using the cross hatch die from Chic dies - item 158815);

  • Pool Party ink (item 147107) to stamp swimsuit image;
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to stamp the distressed text image from Queen Bee stamp set (item 160476) on the swimsuit tag, to sponge edges of the tag and the cross hatch die cut, and all edges of the notepad paper;
  • Very Vanilla baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) - looped through tag (ends secured with a tiny dab of Multipurpose Liquid Glue), and wrapped around the matchbook fold up closure; and
  • two Very Vanilla dots from Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) added to bottom of front cover.
