A Few Projects Using Clearance Rack Products!

Hello!  Stampin' Up! recently added a lot of items to the Clearance Rack and today I am sharing a few projects I worked on this week featuring a few of these items.  There are some very good deals on these Clearance Rack items but the products are only available while supplies last!  Unfortunately, the Beauty of the Earth 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 155841) - from the May 2021-April 2022 Annual Catalogue - that I used in one of my projects has already sold out!

A few of the basic tools that I used to complete my projects include:
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653) - for all die cutting and embossing;
  • Paper Trimmer (item 152392) - for all paper/cardstock trimming and scoring;
  • Bone Folder (item 102300) - to burnish all score lines;
  • Take Your Pick Tool (item 144107) - the putty tip is very helpful in picking up and placing small embellishments and die cuts;
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755) - for the main adhesive; and
  • for heat embossing a heat gun (Heat Tool - item 129053).
On with the projects!

Waves of the Ocean 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
(item 159982)
This paper with the paint pouring technique images is very striking and, although I had been saving it for just the right projects, I thought when I purchased it that it would be perfect to use in art journals - so my first two projects are two small art/junk journals - these are very fun to make!

For my first little journal, which measures 6" tall x 4" wide, and has one eight-page signature secured using the three-hole pamphlet stitch, I used the following additional supplies:
  • Night of Navy cardstock (item 100867) for the cover - 6" x 8" scored on the 8" side at 4" - I scraped the blade of my craft knife along all edges of the cover;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the stamped and die cut art supplies and basket (the Cheerful Basket Bundle - item 158680 - includes the Cheerful Basket stamp set - item 158674 - and the Full Basket dies - item 158679 - each of which can also be purchased individually), and the spiral notebook edge strip (cut using the spiral notebook edge die from the Blossoming Happiness dies - item 158823);
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock (item 146990) - strip embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder - item 154317);
  • Kraft 6" x 6" Paper (item 156325) for the punched and embossed heart (Heart Punch Pack - item 151292 - and Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder);
  • scraps of Soft Suede patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Neutrals (item 159257);
  • scraps of Mango Melody patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) for the little strip just above the eyelet, and for the three die cut hearts (cut using the heart die from the Gingerbread House dies - item 159718);
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the art supplies and basket (which were coloured using alcohol markers);
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to sponge the punched/embossed Kraft Paper heart, the torn spiral notebook edge strip, the edges of the Soft Suede patterned DSP, the edges of the Waves of the Ocean DSP, and the edges of all other paper used in the journal;
  • Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item 156505) to emboss the kraft wrapping paper journal page;
  • hole punch, two eyelets, and eyelet setter;
  • embroidery thread (DMC 336) to sew in the signature;
  • envelope punch board to make the small envelope in the center of the journal;
  • small white velcro dots for envelope fastener (found at Dollar Tree);
  • assorted coffee-stained and other papers; and
  • Dollarama brown paper ribbon.

For my second little journal, which measures 5" square, and has one nine-page signature secured using the three-hole pamphlet stitch, I used the following additional supplies:
  • Night of Navy cardstock (item 100867) for the cover - 5" x 10", scored at 5" on the 10" side;
  • small scrap of Granny Apple Green patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) - attached as a tab to one of the pages using a tiny staple;
  • Soft Suede ink (item 147115) to sponge all edges of the journal's interior pages;
  • 5/8" yellow gross grain ribbon (Dollarama find!) - the ends were glued to the inside of the front and back covers before the inside front and back cover DSP panels were glued on;
  • embroidery thread (DMC 3821) to sew in the signature; and
  • assorted coffee-stained and other papers.
A couple of cards:
For this 5" x 3 1/2" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Night of Navy cardstock (item 100867) for the card base;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the matting panel, sentiment strip, and inside panel;
  • Happiness Abounds stamp set (item 159238) for the sentiment, which was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708); and
  • 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Dots (item 159186) - two of the Tahitian Tide shaded dots used on the sentiment strip.
For this 4" square card I tried again the "floating" technique - strips of the DSP adhered to a piece of acetate (Window Sheets - item 142314) using double-sided tape (Tear & Tape Adhesive - item 154031), a circle then cut from the acetate (using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183), and then using Foam Adhesive Strips (item 141825) added to the back of the acetate circle behind the DSP strips, the acetate circle is adhered to a cardstock panel.  After die cutting the acetate circle I lightly sanded around the circle, including the edges of the DSP strips.  I used the following additional supplies:
  • Night of Navy cardstock (item 100867) for the card base;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the front and inside panels, and sentiment strip;
  • Old Olive cardstock (item 100702) for the front matting panel;
  • Real Red cardstock (item 102482) for the die cut heart (cut using the heart die from the Gingerbread House dies - item 159718);
  • Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item 156505) to emboss the Real Red cardstock prior to die cutting the heart;
  • Ranunculus Romance stamp set (item 157968) for the "Hello" sentiment, which was stamped using Starry Sky ink (item 159212); and
  • 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186) - four of the Parakeet Party shaded dots used on the front of the card.
Ink pad holder:
If you are gifting someone an ink pad why not colour co-ordinate the packaging?  To hold this Pool Party ink pad (item 147107) I used the following additional supplies:
  • one of the Clear Medium Envelopes (item 102619) to hold the ink pad, with the self-adhesive seal at the bottom;
  • Pool Party cardstock (item 122924) for the topper base, handles, and the four larger circle "buttons" - for the topper base a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece, scored along one side at 2" and 2 1/2";
  • circle dies from Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the handles and larger circle buttons.  For the handles I cut two circle frames, glued them together and then cut them in half - each half glued to the front and back of the topper before the DSP panels were glued on;
  • small circle die from Decorated Pine dies (item 159710) to cut the four DSP circles; and
  • double-sided tape (Tear & Tape Adhesive - item 154031) to attach the topper to the clear envelope.
Small notebooks:
For these notebooks I used the following cardstock/DSP combinations (with all DSP recent additions to the Clearance Rack):
  • Calypso Coral cardstock (item 122925) and Waves of the Ocean DSP;
  • Pool Party cardstock (item 122924) and Waves of the Ocean DSP;
  • Pool Party cardstock and Flowering Fields 12" x 12" DSP - item 157670; and
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676)/Old Olive cardstock (item 100702) and Beauty of the Earth 12" x 12" DSP - item 155841 - this DSP is unfortunately sold out.
Each of the notebooks (two of which measure 3 1/2" square, and two of which measure 3 1/2" x 3 3/4"), were constructed in the same manner - I used one six-page signature, with the coffee-stained copy paper evenly trimmed, sponged around all edges with Soft Suede ink (item 147115), and sewn in using embroidery thread and the three-hole pamphlet stitch.  For the covers of the two 3 1/2" square notebooks (Calypso Coral/Waves of the Ocean and Pool Party/Flowering Fields) I used a 7" x 3 1/2" piece of cardstock - scored at 3 1/2" on the 7" side; for one of the 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" notebooks (Pool Party/Waves of the Ocean) a 7" x 3 3/4" piece of cardstock, scored at 3 1/2" on the 7" side; and for the other 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" notebook (Mossy Meadow/Beauty of the Earth) a 7 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of cardstock, scored at 3 3/4" on the 7 1/2" side.  Embroidery thread:  for Calypso Coral - DMC 3328; Mossy Meadow - DMC 3362; and Pool Party (DMC 964 and white).  The Gold Library Clips (item 144130) were treasures from the Clearance Rack a few years ago!  For the tassel bows I used gold cord from Simply Elegant Trim (item 155766) - adding a little dab of glue to the center of the bow and the ends.

Stitched Triangles dies (great for trees!)
(item 152710)
For both the card and tag projects I glued strips of DSP to cardstock before die cutting the triangles - for the card trees I embossed the DSP/cardstock using the Stitched Greenery die (item 155451) before die cutting the triangles.
For this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Soft Succulent cardstock (item 155776) for the card base, base for the DSP strips, and front "splatter" panel - after stamping and embossing the sentiment I splattered the panel using Craft Stampin' White Refill (item 101780), a paintbrush and a little water;
  • Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044) for the matting panels, and die cut bow and stars;
  • Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the inside panel;
  • Soft Succulent patterned paper from the 2021-2023 In Colour 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments (item 159254) - for the tree strips;
  • Texture Chic 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 158808) for snowflake patterned paper matting panel (and strip used on the inside of the card);
  • Brightest Glow stamp set (item 159542) for the "joy" sentiment - stamped and embossed using VersaMark Ink (item 102283) and white embossing powder (Stampin' Emboss Powders - Basics - item 155554);
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108) to partially adhere the two smaller trees;
  • Decorated Pine dies (item 159710) for the die cut bow and stars; and
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - on the card front white dots added to the bow and stars.
And finally . . .
To add a little extra support to this 5 7/8" x 4 1/4" tag, I backed the cardstock tag base with a piece of light-weight cardboard, trimmed just a little smaller than the cardstock.  I used the following additional supplies:
  • Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) for the tag base - embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item 156406);
  • Very Best Trio Punch (item 159878) to punch the diagonal "tag" corners;
  • Craft Stampin' White Ink (item 147277) - sponged over the embossed tag;
  • a torn strip of Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) that had been stenciled using Soft Suede ink (item 147115) and the small check patterned mask from Artistic Mix Decorative Masks (item 159178) and splattered with Craft Stampin' White Refill (item 101780);
  • Decorated Pine dies (item 159710) to die cut from watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) large and small pine branches, and from gold cardstock (Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock - item 153524) the two stars;
  • Evening Evergreen ink (item 155576), Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), and Soft Suede ink to colour the die cut pine branches;
  • Grove dies (item 157844) to die cut the small deer from Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953), which was sponged with Soft Suede ink and Craft Stampin' White Ink;
  • Mossy Meadow patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Neutrals (item 155226 - from the May 2021-April 2022 Annual Catalogue and one of the recent additions to the Clearance Rack, and Mossy Meadow patterned paper from Rustic Harvest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159633) for the tree strips;
  • Mossy Meadow ink to sponge the edges of the die cut triangles; and
  • hole punch, eyelet, eyelet setter, and coarse twine.
