Starting Halloween Projects!

(featuring the Scary Cute Bundle and Best Witches Stamp Set)

 

Hello!  Today I am sharing a few Halloween projects I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Best Witches stamp set (item 159860), and the Scary Cute Bundle (item 159852) - which includes the Scary Cute stamp set (item 159850) and the Scary Silhouettes dies (item 159851).  The Scary Cute stamp set and the Scary Silhouettes dies can of course be purchased separately but when purchased together (using the Bundle item number) there is a 10% Bundle Savings!  Both the Best Witches stamp set and the Scary Cute Bundle are from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue.  Since many people were working on Christmas In July projects I thought why not Halloween In August?

On with the projects!

These five handled treat holders are each 3 1/2" tall x 1" deep - made in two widths: 3 1/2" and 3".  For the 3 1/2" wide holders I used a 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of cardstock - scored on the 9 1/2" side at 1", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", and 9"; and scored on the 4 1/2" side at 1".  For the 3" wide holders I used an 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of cardstock - scored on the 8 1/2" side at 1", 4", 5", and 8"; and scored on the 4 1/2" side at 1".    For the handles I used a strip of cardstock 8 1/2" long by either 1/2" or 3/4" wide - gluing the ends of the handles to the inside edges of the holder approximately 1/2" down from the top edges.  All images were stamped on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406).  All die cutting was done using my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653), and unless otherwise indicated, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755) as the adhesive for all projects.

Additional supplies used: for this 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 1" treat holder:
  • Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044) for the base of the holder, handle, circle frame, and leaf sprigs;
  • Smoky Slate cardstock (item 131202) for the sentiment banner - the sentiment was stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406);
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the partial image circle, the Basic Gray cardstock circle frame, the edge of the Parakeet Party DSP strip, and the sentiment banner;
  • Grove dies (item 157844) to cut the Basic Gray cardstock leaf sprigs;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the matting panel;
  • watercolour paper panel sponged with a combination of Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) and Sweet Sorbet ink (item 159216) and spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185);
  • Black & White Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159861) for the Basic Gray/Basic Black star and striped patterned papers for the back and side panels, and the handle strip;
  • Watercolour Pencils - Basic Gray, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie from Assortment 1 (item 141709), and Crushed Curry, Gorgeous Grape, and Granny Apple Green from Assortment 2 (item 149014) to colour the witch; 
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add the splatters to the witch - done by flicking the brush end of the marker against the marker lid;
  • a small scrap of Parakeet Party patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253) - inside the Basic Gray cardstock circle frame behind the witch image; and
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - two small and two large of the Basic Gray dots added to the front panel.
I used some 5/8" ribbon from Dollarama (that matches pretty closely to the Smoky Slate cardstock!) for the handle bow.

Additional supplies used for this 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 1" treat holder:
  • Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044) for the holder base, handle, matting panel, and "Boo!" sentiment label - the label, cut using the Fabulous Frames dies (item 159163) was trimmed into two pieces - one piece used on each side of the witch;
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the mattiing panel, and handle strip;
  • watercolour paper panel coloured with Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095) and spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185) - for the mattiing panel and "Trick or treat you're so sweet" sentiment tag (tag cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563 - and the hole reinforcer cut from a scrap of Gorgeous Grape cardstock - item 146987);
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiments;
  • Watercolour Pencils - Basic Black, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, and Pumpkin Pie from Assortment 1 (item 141709), and Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and Crushed Curry from Assortment 2 (item 149014) to colour the witch;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add the splatters to the witch;
  • Paper Snips Scissors (item 103579) to cut out the witch image;
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the witch image to the front panel;
  • Silver Foil 12" x 12" Specialty Pack (item 156457) - *this product has been added as an additional Sale-A-Bration selection available for free with a $60.00 CDN order (before taxes and shipping) - for Sale-A-Bration the item number is 163096* - used for the stars (cut using the Decorated Pine dies (item 159710);
  • Matte Black Dots (item 154284) - four added to the front panel and one to each side of the holder; and
  • Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485) to tie the sentiment tag to the handle.
For this 3" x 3 1/2" x 1" treat holder the following additional supplies were used:
  • Orchid Oasis cardstock (item 159267) for the holder base, handle, and circle frame;
  • Polished Pink cardstock (item 155710) for the hearts - cut using the Sale-A-Bration Hippo dies (item 159928);
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) - matting panel;
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the sentiment banner (sentiment was stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink - item 101406), the image circle, and the Orchid Oasis cardstock circle frame;
  • Parakeet Party patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253) for the front panel;
  • Perfectly Penciled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159244) for the back and side panels, and the front panel strip; 
  • Granny Apple Green ink (item 147095), Mango Melody ink (item 147093), and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) to colour the image;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add the splatters to the image circle; and
  • 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186) - four of the Orchid Oasis shaded dots used on the front panel.,
For the handle bow I used some Dollarama 5/8" black gross grain ribbon.

Scary Cute Bundle
For this 3" x 3 1/2" x 1" treat holder the following additional supplies were used:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the holder base, handle, bats, and silhouette frame - when cutting the silhouette frame you have to use the larger frame and the interior silhouette frame together
  • Orchid Oasis cardstock (item 159267) to cut the frame background (cut using the outer frame die alone);, and the sentiment banner;
  • Starry Sky ink (item 159212) to sponge the Orchid Oasis cardstock panel;
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the vampire trick-or-treater, and the sentiment;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to add the splatters to the Orchid Oasis cardstock panel;
  • Real Red cardstock (item 102482) for the heart (cut using the heart die from the Gingerbread House dies - item 159718);
  • Orchid Oasis patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253) for the front panel; 
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the sentiment banner; and
  • Real Red 3/8" Ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack (item 159577) for the handle bow. 
The following additional supplies were used for this 3" x 3 1/2" x 1" treat holder:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the holder base and handle;
  • Basic Gray cardstock (item 121044) for the sentiment banner;
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) to stamp the sentiment;
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the sentiment banner;
  • Rustic Harvest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159633) for the decorative paper panels for the front, back and side panels, and for the handle strip;
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (item 104430) to attach the sentiment banner; and
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082) - two used on the sentiment banner, and one on each side of the holder.
For this 3" tall x 2" wide x 1/2" deep treat holder (which is just the right size to hold one small Kit Kat chocolate bar!) I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the base and handles:  for the base a 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece, scored on the 5 1/2" side at 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", and 5"; and scored on the 3 1/2" side at 1/2";
  • Layering Circles dies (item 151770) to cut the circle frame handles;
  • watercolour paper panel - the image stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and then panel sponged with Mango Melody ink (147093), a small dab of Pumpkin Pie ink (item 147086) - in the lantern - and around the edges of the panel, Basic Gray ink (item 149165) and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708);
  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock (item 146987) for the sentiment banner - sentiment stamped using Stazon Jet Black Ink, and the banner cut using the Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183);
  • Black & White Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159861) for the Basic Gray/Basic Black striped patterned paper for the front panel;
  • a small scrap of Gorgeous Grape patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Brights (item 159258) for the torn strip at the bottom of the front panel;
  • Matte Black Dots (item 154284) - one large and one small added to the torn DSP strip; and
  • silver cord from Simply Elegant Trim (item 155766) for the handle bow.
When you want a nice black silhouette image a stamping platform - such as the Stamparatus (item 146276) - that allows you to stamp the image several times without having to worry about image shifting - is a very handy tool to have!

And finally . . .

For this 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 3/4" deep lidded box (which is just the right size to hold two of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups-Thins) I used the following additional supplies:
  • Basic Black cardstock for the base of the box (4 1/4" x 4 1/4" - scored at 3/4" on all four sides), and for the haunted house and bats;
  • Black & White Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 159861) for the lid of the box (4 5/16" x 4 5/16" - scored at 3/4" on all four sides);
  • Mango Melody cardstock (item 146989) for the circle (cut using the Stylish Shapes dies - item 159183);
  • White Craft Stampin' Ink (item 147277) to lightly sponge around the house and bats;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708) to stamp the sentiment; and
  • Basic Black baker's twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack - item 155475) to tie the bow around the box.
