Playing With The Perched In A Tree Bundle!

Hello!  The projects I am sharing today are four cards I worked on this week using the Stampin' Up! Perched In A Tree Bundle (item 159799) from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue.  This Bundle includes the Perched In A Tree stamp set (item 159791) and the Aspen Trees dies (item 159798) - the stamp set and the dies can of course be purchased individually but when purchased together there is a 10% bundle savings (when the bundle item number is used).  Using these stamps and dies you can create cards and gift projects for all the seasons!
Aspen Trees dies - item 159798

For anyone who may be interested in the dies alone Stampin' Up! has announced that for the remainder of Sale-A-Bration (which runs until August 31, 2022), the Aspen Trees dies has been added as one of the available free items with a purchase of $120.00 CDN (before taxes and shipping).  When selecting the Aspen Tree dies as a Sale-A-Bration product the item number is 163102.  Stampin' Up! has added several items to the Sale-A-Bration selections and I will provide a list of these items at the end of this blog post.

On with the projects!

For the cards I stamped the bird and branch images on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406), and watercoloured the images using Stampin' Up! inks (Basic Gray ink - item 149165 was used to colour the branch).  I also used watercolour paper to cut the leaves and large aspen tree die cuts - the leaves were coloured with a combination of Old Olive ink (item 147090) and Mossy Meadow ink (item 14711) and lightly spritzed with water (Stampin' Spritzers - item 126185); and the large aspen tree die cuts were  "watercoloured" using Basic Gray ink.  I attempted to highlight the bird's eye by adding a little drop of clear nail polish over the eye.  For adhesive I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755).  For all die cutting/embossing I used my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (item 149653).

For this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" side-fold "blank" (no sentiment) card I used the following additional supplies"
  • Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) for the card base and the frame (cut using the Fabulous Frames dies (item 159163)
Fabulous Frames dies - item 159163
  • Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820) to cut the large frame from watercolour paper - the frame was coloured using a combination of Old Olive ink (item 147090) and Mossy Meadow ink (item 147111), and lightly spritzed with water (the same colouring technique used for the leaves);
  • Basic Gray patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Neutrals (item 159257) for the decorative paper panel;
  • Mango Melody ink (item 147093), Soft Suede ink (item 147115), Starry Sky ink (item 159212), and Basic Gray ink (item 149165) to colour the bird;
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) for splattering the bird - done by flicking the brush end of the marker against the marker cap;
  • Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485) for the bow; and
  • Classic Matte Dots (item 158146) - one large and one small of the Basic Gray dots added to the bottom of the Basic Black cardstock frame.

  • a small strip of Smoky Slate patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Neutrals (item 159257) - added to the bottom of the Rings of Love DSP on the inside of the card;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) for the bow tied to the bird's leg; and
  • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) for splattering the entire front panel of the card - done by flicking the brush end of the marker against the marker cap.
For this 5" x 4" top-fold card I used the following additional supplies:
  • Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) for the card base;
  •  Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the front matting panel (the edges of which were distressed by scraping the blade of my craft knife along the edges);

  • Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the inside panel;
  • Orchid Oasis patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253) for the decorative paper for the front panel and the strip along the bottom of the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock inside panel;
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) to cut the Orchid Oasis DSP square;

Using an envelope punch board I made a co-ordinating envelope from a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Wonderful World 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  The Wonderful World DSP, combined with the Wonderful World stamp set, is one of the Sale-A-Bration items available for free with a $120.00 CDN order (before taxes and shipping) - item 159918.

And finally - a little Sale-A-Bration gift card . . .
For this 3 1/4" x 2 1'2" top-fold gift card I used the "bunched" foliage die from the Aspen Tree dies for the background foliage (cut from watercolour paper that had been coloured with a combination of Old Olive ink [item 147090] and Mossy Meadow ink [item 147111] and lightly spritzed with water), and the Grove dies (item 157844) to cut the leaf sprigs from Old Olive cardstock (item 100702) and Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676).  For the flowers and grass I used the Sale-A-Bration Hippo dies (item 159928) - the flowers cut from Orchid Oasis cardstock (item 159267) and Highland Heather cardstock (item 146986); and the grass from Mossy Meadow cardstock.  For the flower centers I used the Orchid Oasis/Starry Sky shaded dots from the 2022-2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots (item 159186).  For the base of the card I used Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318); Starry Sky cardstock (item 159263) for the matting panel; and Very Vanilla Thick cardstock (item 144237) for the front panel (splattered using Soft Suede ink - item 147115) and the inside panel.  The "Thank You" sentiment, from the Nature's Harvest stamp set (item 156495), was stamped using Starry Sky ink (item 159212).  Using an envelope punch board I made a co-ordinating envelope from a piece of Orchid Oasis patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253).

I cut the trailer from watercolour paper and coloured it using Starry Sky ink, Soft Suede ink, and Basic Gray ink (item 149165). Using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) I added the splatters.  For the window insert I used a scrap of Orchid Oasis patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - 2022-2024 In Colour (item 159253); and I cut the door insert from a small scrap of Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item 158659).  Unfortunately the Sale-A-Bration Tree Lot dies (item 159938) that I used to cut the trailer are no longer available - I guess they were just too popular! - and the Sale-A-Bration items are only available while supplies last.

For the remainder of August Stampin' Up! has made several additional products available as Sale-A-Bration selections.  In addition to the Aspen Tree dies (Sale-A-Bration item 163102) the following products are available for free with a $120.00 CDN order (before taxes and shipping) - all items numbers are the Sale-A-Bration item numbers for the products:
