Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album

(featuring the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper)

Hello!  The project I am sharing today is a toilet paper roll mini album (and box) I worked on this week featuring the Stampin' Up! retiring Heart & Home 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 157928).  During the Last Chance Promotion, which runs until June 30, 2022, the retiring products from the January - June 2022 Mini Catalogue are available - while supplies last - with some products offered at a substantial discount!  At the end of this blog post I will list the retiring items used in my project.  Each toilet paper roll creates a pocket, which is just perfect to hold a tag (cut with the largest of the "square" tag dies from the Tailor Made Tags dies - item 155563).  The tags can be used as journaling tags or to hold additional photos.  The toilet paper rolls are readily available - especially if you have several people in your house! - and to hold the album together I used two 1" book rings (I picked up a package of ten at Dollar Tree).

After flattening the rolls by running them through my die cutting machine (Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine - item 149653) several times, I sponged all sides of the rolls with Soft Suede Ink (item 147115),
For each side of each roll I cut a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (item 119686) approximately 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" and distressed all edges by scraping the blade of my craft knife along the edges.
After gluing on the cardstock sheets to each side of each roll, I cut two 3/16" holes on the left side of each roll using a template to ensure proper alignment, and over each hole I glued a hole re-enforcer cut from Early Espresso cardstock using the Tailor Made Tags dies. For each side of each roll I cut a 3 1/4" x 2 3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper.  In addition to the Heart & Home DSP I also used some of the Garden Green patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortments - Regals (item 159256).

All images were stamped on watercolour paper (Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolour Paper - item 149612) using Stazon Jet Black Ink (item 101406) and coloured using Watercolour Pencils - Assortment 1 (item 141709) [Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, and Pumpkin Pie] and Assortment 2 (item 149014) [Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green].  For the stamped images I used the following stamp/die sets:
  • Cheerful Basket Bundle (item 158680) - which includes the Cheerful Basket stamp set (item 158674) and the Full Basket dies (item 158679) - for the cat
  • Happiness Abounds Bundle (item 158824) - which includes the Happiness Abounds stamp set (item 159238) and the Blossoming Happiness dies (item 158823) - for the flowers and leaves

Leaves and grasses were cut from Garden Green cardstock (item 102584) using the following dies:
  • Honeybee Blooms dies (item 157951)
  • Grove dies (item 157844)
  • Garden dies (item 157918)
  • Full Basket dies (item 158679)

The twig sprig was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock (item 120953) also using the Full Basket dies:

The little hearts were cut from Pale Papaya cardstock (item 155668), Blushing Bride cardstock (item 131198), and Poppy Parade cardstock (item 119793) using the Full Basket dies (item 158679), and the Teacup dies (item 160186),

The little flowers were cut from Pale Papaya cardstock using the little flower dies included with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (item 157641).

The tags and hole re-enforcers were all cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies - the tags from Crumb Cake cardstock and the hole re-enforcers from Early Espresso cardstock.  To add a little background texture I stamped the tags (using second generation stamping) with Soft Suede Ink and the splatter stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set (item 155082).  I sponged the edges of all tags with Soft Suede Ink.

The butterflies were cut from Early Espresso cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, and Soft Suede cardstock (item 115318) using the Brilliant Wings dies (item 155523).

The clippers and spade were cut using the Garden dies (item 157918) - the clipper's handles and the spade's shaft from Early Espresso cardstock, the blades from Silver Foil (Silver Foil 12" x 12" Specialty Pack - item 156457), and the spade's handle from Garden Green cardstock.

The little cultivator and flower pot were cut using the Rain Boots dies (item 156690) - the cultivator handle from Early Espresso cardstock, and the "fork" from Silver Foil; and the flower pot from Soft Suede cardstock (I cut two flower pots - trimming one for an additional rim to create a little dimension and sponging all edges with Soft Suede Ink).

I lightly sanded all pieces cut from the Silver Foil and then sponged with Soft Suede Ink to help create a distressed look for the tools. I also sponged the spade's Garden Green cardstock handle with Soft Suede Ink, and the Early Espresso cardstock tool pieces with White Ink (Craft Stampin' Ink - White - item 147277).

The "wooden plank" behind the "our friendship is naturally beautiful" sentiment was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Horizon dies (item 157778), embossed using the Stripes 3D Embossing Folder (Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders - item 157980), and sponged with Soft Suede Ink.

The Early Espresso cardstock floral stem silhouettes were cut using the Honeybee Blooms dies.

The watering can was stamped using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set (item 157689) on Crumb Cake cardstock using Soft Suede Ink.

The "friend" sentiment, from the Happiness Abounds stamp set (item 159238), was stamped using Soft Suede Ink.  All other sentiments, from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set, were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (item 132708).

I used the bee dies from the Honeybee Blooms dies to cut the bee images from the Heart & Home DSP.

I also used the following supplies to complete the project:
  • Stylish Shapes dies (item 159183) - the perforated edged circles to cut photos and sentiment circle;
  • Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820);
  • Linen Thread (item 104199);
  • Crumb Cake baker's twine - bow on the box - Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (item 155475);
  • Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485);
  • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item 144108);
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755);
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (item 159082); and
  • Polished Dots (item 158134) - for water droplets on flowers and foliage.

For the box, I actually made two lids - I couldn't decide whether I wanted it decorated or plain!  I sponged all edges of the Heart & Home DSP panels with Soft Suede Ink.  For the box I used two pieces of Early Espresso cardstock cut and scored as follows:
  • for the base:  9 1/4" x 8" - scored at 2" on all four sides; and
  • for the lid:  7 5/16" x 6 1/16" - scored at 1" on all four sides.
