Dandy Wishes and Heartwarming Hugs Mini Albums

Hello!  Today I am sharing two mini albums, which can be used either as themed photo albums or scrapbooks.  I think this style of album would make a nice gift and of course any choice of designer series paper and co-ordinating cardstock which would suit the theme for the recipient could be used.

My first mini album features the Stampin' Up! Dandy Wishes dies (item 154315); Garden Wishes stamp set (item 154408); and the Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper from the January - June 2021 Mini Catalogue.  The second album features the Real Red patterned papers from the Stampin' Up! Heart Warming Hugs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 153492) and I have limited the colours used in the album to Real Red, Basic White and Basic Black.

 Each album measures 5 1/2" wide by 6" tall.  The instructions for the assembly of the albums can be found on my October 30, 2021 blog post (https://archiesatelier.blogspot.com/2021/10/halloween-mini-albumscrapbook-featuring.html).
I had hoarded my package of Dandy Garden DSP waiting for just the right project!  The irony is not lost on me that for someone who has expended a lot of time and energy over several years attempting to eradicate dandelions from her lawn I really enjoyed making this little album using both the DSP and the co-ordinating die and stamp sets!  I have to appreciate the tenacity of the dandelions and the spot of colour their bright yellow flowers add to even the dullest brown autumnal grass!

I used Mossy Meadow cardstock (item 133676) for the pages of the album (and the die cut greenery), and Basic White cardstock (item 159276) for the mats for the DSP for each of the pages and flaps, and for the sentiment.  For this album I did not add any photo mats (or any photos either yet!).

Additional supplies used for this album:
  • Bumblebee cardstock (item 153077) - for die cut flowers on the front cover (which were spritzed with water and crinkled and shaped while damp), the tag for the sentiment, and the stamped bee;
  • watercolour paper for the stamped and watercoloured dandelion images;
  • watercolour pencils - Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso (Assortment 1 - item 141709); and Crushed Curry (Assortment 2 - item 149014);
  •  Meadow dies (item 155852) - for additional greenery;
  • Tailor Made Tags die (item 155563) - for the Bumblebee tag;
  • In Good Taste 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (item 152494) - woodgrain DSP panel on cover;
  • tiny scrap of Basic Black cardstock (item 121045) - for the tag reinforcer;
  • Linen Thread (item 104199) - wrapped around the strip of DSP on the cover;
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink (item 132708) - for all stamped images, including sentiment;
  • liquid glue (Multipurpose Liquid Glue - item 110755); and
  • Mossy Meadow 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon (item 153542 - currently available on the Clearance Rack) for the album ribbon closure.

For the second album I used Basic White Thick cardstock (item 159229) for the pages, and Basic Black cardstock for DSP mats, several photo mats, "greenery" for the front cover, ornament embellishment, and tree trunks.
Additional supplies used:
  • Poinsettia dies (item 153522);
  • Forever Flourishing dies (item 152714) - for additional "greenery" on the cover;
  • Intricate Leaves dies (item 153566) - for additional "greenery" on the cover.
  • Layering Circle dies (item 151770) - for the Basic White circle on the cover;
  • Stitched Rectangles dies (item 151820) - for Basic Black photo mats and Basic Black tree trunks;
  • Stitched So Sweetly dies (item 151690) - for Basic White Thick cs photo mats;
  • Giving Gifts dies (item 156563) -  for Basic Black ornament embellishment, Real Red and Basic White bows, and Basic White snowflake;
  • Stitched Triangles (item 152710) - for DSP and embossed Real Red Christmas Trees;
  • Tailor Made Tags dies (item 155563) - sentiment tags;
  • Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder (item 152718) - for Real Red Christmas tree;
  • Perfectly Plaid stamp set (item 158335) and co-ordinating Pine Tree punch (item 149521) - stamped Christmas trees, and sentiments;
  • Real Red ink (item 147084) - for sentiments;
  • liquid glue (Multipurpose Liquid Glue - item 110755);
  • Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon (item 156485) - for the album ribbon closure; and
  • black, red, and white buttons from my Dollar Tree stash.  Black embroidery floss was tied through the two buttons on the cover.
I had a lot of fun working on these albums and hope you have fun working on yours!
